I want this board to be a "happy" place. As such I have decided to have one rule. Any post that contains any negative comment towards another poster, person or group of people will be removed.
Most of the time this comment is not required but there is always that chance of an inappropriate post in a public place. So I have requested the moderators to remove any post they feel needs deleting.
Happy Posting.

This is a good rule, Ngaire. Too often, posters forget that there is a big difference between making a negative comment about something OBJECTIVE (such as a cruise, line, car make, or sports team)and making a negative comment about people or a person. The first example can contain useful information. The second example never does!
Thanks, Richard :) :) :)

Yeah, I check the directory once a day to see the post numbers and the member of the moment which I think is funny. Don't know why, it just amuses me.

By the way, I hate editing other peoples posts, but in the event that I have to, I will always email or PM an explanation to you and beg your forgiveness :)

I'm always a happy camper.
Actually,it is because I am cheap. Keep looking for the Cat H and the two for one deals. I just can't see, on the Mariner and the Voyager, paying for Cat E or F when the cabin is the same as Cat H.

Marc, I will find that out on the Voyager, as I am in one of the category H cabins, and there has been the discussion of the vibration issue. I think I'm in 669, your mother in law's cabin. Last time on Voyager, I was a category H guarantee, and ended up on deck 9. I'm with you in booking early for the reasons stated. Besides, I prefer being lower on the ship. Easier to get to the public areas.

Marc,
I'm with you on finding the lowest priced suite and 2-for-1 deals.
For DOF we booked Deck 7 Sitting, 2-for-1. Can't get much better and reasonable than that.
As long as we are sailing, we're happy campers regardless of where we're located. We're just thrilled to be aboard.

Denise, I am interested in how you compare a sitting room on the Diamond to a standard balcony cabin on the Voyager. I know you will get the extra space inside that the others get for a balcony. It is just interesting to me to find out what is important to those who choose not to get the balcony.(Oh, other than the price, I don't even know what it saves you)

I will report back on the Diamond sitting room vs. Voyager suite.
In all honesty, a balcony is really not uppermost in our selection of a suite. We are looking for the most economical way of sailing on an upscale line, such as Radisson. We don't feel the need to have a balcony.
It was a wonderful perk to have it on Voyager and we sat outside several times. However, if the cheapest suite was one without a balcony, that would have been the one we would have chosen to book.
On Navigator, we chose the cheapest suite, which was just perfect for us. We were out and about so much, that it didn't matter, whatsoever.
As I said, previously - We are just thrilled to be sailing on Radisson, regardless of suite and whether or not it has a balcony or not. Cost is a definite factor. What we save in upgraded suite costs, we can spend on excursions, etc. It's a trade-off for us.

In the Caribbean, we really liked the balcony on the Diamond. However, we used it really only for breakfast, since we spent most of the day up by the splash bar in those comfy seats and everflowing drinks. In the med on the Voyager, we rarely used our balcony. Quick breakfast followed by day of touring. Therefore, for DOF, we are booked in a D7S guarantee. If they are available, and we feel like splurging, we might pay for the upgrade at the pier.
I can't understand those that pay for nice suites on mainstream or worse cruise lines. Why pay that much, often more than Cat H on Voyager, for the same poor food, service, amenitites as people spending a 10th of what you are spending. I really agree with Denise. I have found a cruise line where I enjoy the entry level cabins. True, someday it will be fun to cruise in a 1,000 sq ft suite on Celebrity with whirlpool tubs, butler, and plasma tvs. For now, though, the value with Radisson entry level accomodations can't be beat.

Marc, I would rather have that 1,000 s.f. suite on the Voyager with the whirlpool right next to the window.

We had the same dilemna for our Diamond cruise and went with the D7 sitting room guarantee as well. Figured it was a port intensive cruise with little time to spend on the balcony anyways and may want the additional room inside.
However, if we end up upgraded to a balcony we won't complain.

Not an option or me either! I would still rather have a standard on RSSC than that 1,000 s.f. suite on a big Celebrity ship.
