We just booked the second half of TAP with Ngaire. We join the cruise on May 8 in Funchal, and we are staying on until May 21 in Rome. We love the itinerary. Our cabin is 862. (I noticed on the web site that there are no sea days and no formal nights for our part of the cruise.)

If this is posted somewhere, i apologize....are people going in early and/or staying late, pre and post cruise?

Well it looks like our pre-cruise may lap over with y'alls post-cruise. We will be in Barcelona on the 15th to board our Silver Wind cruise on the 16th. We are thinking of staying at the Gran Marina Hotel right at the pier. If there is anybody still in town that wants to meet for drinks or maybe tapas that evening, just let us know.

Don, how I wish! But I lucked into a flight out of Barcelona (I am ready to get home after 15 days away) at about noon on the 14th, right after disembarkation. So glad you found a good deal on Wind for next spring, just the time you wanted to travel!

Sheri, I'm sure you already know about the pre-cruise BASH (welcoming Marcie and Tom home from WC) at IHOP morning of embarkation! Right now, I don't get in until very late the night before, so can't do dinner, unfortunately.

I just added the second leg of this cruise. 14 nights! Will they offer the cordon bleu classes on this cruise do you think? What kind of activities will there be during the day? Sorry, I'm going to have lots of dumb questions because I've never been on Radisson.

Sheri, We will come in on the 29th and are free for dinner. We are staying on in Barcelona for 2 nights at the Majestic. We're doing a RSSC post-cruise package. It's not too bad a deal.

Thanks Olivia, we're sorry that we won't get to see you again. I understand all about time. My wish would be to TAP over and CROSS back and spend the time in between touring all over Europe! I think I need to go out and buy a lottery ticket today! LOL

Has anyone discovered any great hotel deals in Barcelona? We booked the RSSC package, since I couldn't do better on my own with no miles nor hotel points.

I haven't started looking yet. We are going on SAND in a couple of weeks and I want to make sure I like Regent before I make the final payment/arrangements for TAP :D
I think we will stay only one night in Barcelona. DH has more limited vacation time than me.

I am sure you will love Regent. You get an additional 5% off for onboard booking.

You might want to try the Meridien for post-cruise in Barcelona or one of the Hilton hotels.

Does anyone know the difference between a regular crossing versus a "grand" crossing?

As I recall Regent originally had the Voyager spring and fall crossings as FLL to Barcelona and Monte Carlo to FLL. They did not want to break them into 2 segments but allowed B&K to sell them as "the crossing" (FLL to Funchal) and "the grand crossing" (FLL to Barcelona).

Now it appears there was more interest than anticipated and they are being marketed as two separate cruises on the Regent website. To get the original TAP "grand crossing" you now book a back-to-back, FLL to Funchal and Funchal to Barcelona.

Does that make sense?

John, I will be either poolside with Tonya, or sleeping in as you and the others learn to cook. Suzanne could probably teach those classes with all her training. Suzanne, don't you get to invite a "guest" for the final cook-off? (Hint, hint!)
