Lets all start singing. Nothing but blue skies!

Bags are packed opened a bottle of bubbly tonight and we are ready to go! I heard champagne is good for colds! LOL

Don, hope you are feeling better. Chester is much better now.
I've started doing laundry but haven't started looking out clothes to take. I'm going to try and leave work by 3pm on Friday and go into cruise mode. We have all day Saturday to pack since we are taking a red eye on Saturday night. Only two more days of work!

Sigh. I'm winding down my second-last day of work. I will have lots to do on Saturday. Most things are laid out, but all cosmetics and toiletries have to get sorted, plus jewellery. Nothing is in the suitcases yet. We are leaving for the airport at 6 a.m. Sunday.

I have all my stuff together. Looks like I have to add some warmer clothing maybe. Lots of work to finish. Have to bring some work with me to do. Oh well. End of year is never really a good time for us so even if I am at the pool deck doing some work on the laptop, it's better than doing it here with the flourescent lights instead of sunshine. And knowing me, well, procrastination is always a possiblity.

We are here waiting on y'all. Right now it is 12:30 am and 68 degrees outside and we are sitting on our balcony sipping champagne. Wish y'all were here with us.

Tonight the cold front comes through and the temps drop and the high tomorrow is going to be in the mid 60's, but it is supposed to warm up by the weekend.

We had a very non eventful flight. It took off on time and was very smooth and our bags made it. So far, so good! Oh, the flight was overbooked and we were offered a very attractive deal to fly our later, but we were too anxious to get the vacation started.

Tomorrow we are supposed to go out with our friends on their boat. These are some friends that we met on our Silversea cruise last year.

We are excited about seeing everybody Sunday night.

The cold front has arrived. Current temp here is 59 ( pretty cool for us) and the wind is blowing. Now, hopefully it's getting this stuff out of it's system and by Monday it will be beautiful when we board the ship.
Our clothes are laid out to pack, most of the chores are done. I'm so ready for SAND. Let's get this party started, my friends!!!!!

cheer

I guess this is the same cold front that swept through here yesterday during the day. We have sub-freezing temperatures right now, but by Sunday they're going to be considerably plus again, so I guess Florida follow suit.

Just remember, we didn't send it to you (from Canada), it came from somewhere far north of here!!

64 degrees right now here in Palm Beach and winds at 16 gusting to 20. Should be an interesting boat ride today, but first have to head back to the airport. In all the excitement we walked off and left one of our bags with our snorkel gear and just a few of Dianas shoes!

See you soon!

Freezing here in NYC. Leave at 6AM tomorrow. What was I thinking.

FYI - could not do the hold mail on the Internet. Call the post office 800 number and you can do it on the phone. All voice activated. No live person but it worked. Long story - can't trust the kid to get the mail this time.

WHO LEFT THE DAMN DOOR OPEN ?

It must have been one of you people from Wisconsin, or other northern state - CANT STAND COLD !!!! ( I have a friend who spends his summer months at Lake Geneva, WI and when he returned to SW Florida, he brought a real cold wave with him - see, he left the door open! It follows that another of you Cheese Heads has done the same thing and brought the cold down again !!)

SO PLEASE SHUT THE DOOR !!! I'M FREEZING !!!

Just got back from seeing our friends today. The captain cancelled our boat trip due to weather, but we had a great time. Well after a couple bottles of Clicquot and a bottle of Prosecco, I think we had a good time! LOL

Weather today in the mid 60's rain off and on and windy. Right now it is 67 degrees and windier than HE double hockey sticks.

Tomorrow it is supposed to warm back up to 71 degrees, but still has some rain and wind in the forecast. Sure hope this dies down by cruise time, or we may have a rough ride.

Still, it sure beats being back in Dallas, where right now the temp is in the mid 20's! Im sure that it is much cooler for you folks up north.

See you soon!

Updated forecast.

Sunday in FLL high of 73 degrees and wind is supposed to die down. Some showers.

Monday in FLL high will hit 79 degrees and the low will be 71. No wind in forecast, but still some showers. Should be a nice sailaway.

Right now in Palm Beach it is 71 degrees and sunny, but still extremely windy.

Signing off for now.
Meteorlogist Don!

Thanks Don for the weather report. I've decided to pack my umbrella!
I'm in full procrastination mode. I leave for the airport in 9 hours and I haven't started choosing clothes yet. Plus I have an appointment at the nail salon in an hour.

Oh wow, well I'm doing better than that. I did my own nails (because my nails are so crummy that a manicure lasts about 2 days, and winter pedicures are a real pain.)

We have 16 hours to go, and I'm mostly packed. I think we're going to go out and listen to some jazz this afternoon!

Trying to decide if I should take a rain jacket with me to the Carribean. Is that overkill (I've never been there)?

Well, if it's not too late, safe trip! My husband's taking a windbreaker, by the way, but that's mostly to get him to the airport and back. I'm not taking anything like that. I'm off to bed, and off the air for a week. Talk to everybody when we get back.
