That sounds like fun, Claudia! I am sooooo ready to go. All I have left to do is to go to the dry cleaners today, visit the post office to turn off the mail and stop to tell the police to watch the house while I am gone.

I picked up the Sand Door signs this morning. Going to laminate them later today. They came our very nice. We had to change the design a little bit for printing but I think you will all like them.

Let's hope the wind here dies down. I live a few miles from the latest out of control fire and if a spark flies wrong, we have open space behind our home that hasn't burned in a while. Everyone around here is having some respritory discomfort from the fire.

Kathy, that is just awful about the fires. I hope things settle down.

Things still left for us. Got the clothes back from that tailors, picked up a pair of casual slacks and a couple of shirts at Dillards. Taking the dry cleaning in tomorrow and getting the bags down. Finalize the packing on Wednesday night, and then have our son take us to the airport on Thursday for our 2pm flight. Then in Palm Beach I will need to find an extra bathing suit. I know y'all will be disappointed, but I decided to leave the thong at home! LOL

Oh golly, I have all kinds of stuff to do! But then we aren't leaving until Sunday. The suitcases are out, and most of the clothing is ironed. Nothing is packed yet, but I will finish ironing this week, pick up a skirt I'm getting altered on Friday, get my nails done, and have all day Saturday to pack. And pace. And pay bills, and make lists.

Yes, in one week, we would be just about clearing the channel right about now, either in front or just behind the Voyager!

Wendy, thank you for your list. I almost forgot about my nails. Guess I will have to head to the manicurist sometime on Wednesday.

Phyllis, that is great news!

Today, I took the rest of the dry cleaning in and picked up Clive Cussler's new book, so let's get this show on the road!

Editing to add, Mark wants to bring a book related to his work (snooze) but the cover is on upside down for some reason. He is afraid that everyone will think that he is just pretending to read, lol. If anyone sees him reading it, you can ask him if he knows that his book is upside down :)

Hi Everyone:

You seem so organized. I have not started to pack as yet. Have a major project to finish by Friday so I'm a little stressed. We got first snow here yesterday.

Claudia and Ron - thanks for the invite...we are down the hall on Deck 7.

Looking forward to Sunday.

Yes Tina, maybe we will bump into each other on the plane! I guess we'll be leaving for the airport about 7 a.m. I'm always paranoid about the airport after we almost missed a flight to Europe several years ago, so that should give us plenty of time for a 9:50 flight. We will be some of the last people using Terminal 2 before they shut it down finally. Let's just hope there's no storms--right now the forecast for Sunday is clear. Storms can close the airports as much as they like on the way back on the 18th!

Karen,
My precious !!! Is it possible that you will let me have that Clive Cussler book for just one day on the cruise? I only need one day, and would really appreciate it.

Secondly, stop picking on Mark - we don't care if reads his book with cover upside down, no cover or cover right side up ! Really looking forward to seeing you guys again..

Thirdly, if anyone sees me coming aboard - please jump out of the way !! This public service message is for the safety of all concerned. I plan to run up those steps, jump
onto the ship and yell out " im here!!" So you all have been warned - don't block my way onto the ship - it'll be very ugly if you do !!!!!

Dear Sheik,

It should not be a problem for you to gain access to the ship that way. Your harem will see to it that the gangway is clear and your chilled champagne waiting for you, grapes and palm frond at the ready.

Phyllis - My clothes are 75% laid out without being folded ready for the suitcase. At least if I am stuck working, I can ball them up and throw them in. (lol)

And the SAND door signs are all packed and ready in the carry on bag.

All of your enthusiasm is fun to read. I'm not quite there yet because I have a busy week at work this week. I'm going to be madly packing on Saturday, in between running out to get my nails done etc. Our flight goes through Detroit on Sunday morning...I'm keeping my fingers crossed for no delays.

A snorkelling question--is it worthwhile bringing the reef shoes? I've never bothered in the Bahamas, but I've never been to USVI.

Wendy, I am bringing my reef shoes and our snorkels. I am also bringing my inflatable snorkel vest, we are doing a snorkel excursion and I don't like wearing those bulky ones that they provide.

I just checked the weather forecast for Ft. Lauderdale for Sunday. Partly cloudy and in the high 70's. Here is the view from my house today with about a half inch of snow. I am chanting "4 more days"!

Yeh, we're doing the Honeymoon Bay catamaran trip. I'm assuming they will provide fins, just not sure if I need the reef shoes too. I'm a fairly adequate swimmmer, so I don't wear a vest. I'll definitely be snorkelling at Princess Cays as well, unless the water is too cold. I guess I'll wait and see if there's room. It's not like Tahiti--there's nothing much poisonous down there, although I guess there could be sea urchins.

Uh oh! I came down with something last night. Got up at 3am hacking and sneezing. Hoping that it is just allergies, but I don't think that allergies also leave you feeling achy and give you a scratchy throat! I have been taking Zyrtec, echinacea, and popping Airborne! If I wake up tomorrow and still feel yuck, I am heading to the Dr. right away. We fly out on Thursday. This can't be happening, but I have been around sick people since the beginning of November and have been fighting it!

Nails are done, NO BIKINI WAX (LOL), money from the ATM today, bags being packed tonight, and bills being paid tomorrow. One more day of work and we are ready to go! Can't get sick!

Don,

We're hoping it's allergy or a 24 hour cold! You take it easy (as you can!) and feel better. You forgot Chicken Soup on your list of Disease Fighting remedies.

Hi Don:

Be careful re: your ears. I flew back from Amsterdam with a terrible cold this summer and thought my head would explode.

Looking forward to meeting you - with or without your thong :)

Tina, I had the same experience flying to San Francisco last spring. I couldn't hear for 3 days, it was awful! I bought Earplanes and used them for the first leg of my trip and my ears were fine. I forgot to put them in for the second leg and I really suffered!

Thanks all. Feeling a little better today, but not taking any chances. I took a triple dose of vitamins today, a double dose of echinacea, and started the airborne last night, in addition to my Zyrtec and Nasacort. Still tired but not as achy as yesterday. Hoping that is just allergies. That in itself wears me out. Seems like everybody around here has been sick and I am just trying to stay as far away from them as possible.

Wendy, hopefully they have our weatherman! Rain means plenty of sunshine! LOL However, it has been my experience that it always shows rain in the Caribbean (usually about a 30% chance of precipitation), but you usually end up with mostly sunny days and an occasional and brief shower here and there. I think that December is actually supposed to be one of the drier months though. I guess we need to start our no-rain dances!
