Steve,
Welcome to LCT, good to see your post. Yes, the funsters will have FUN. Pooch is sometimes known
as "oh hell" and some other names. I do not remember the source of the name "pooch". Perhaps if Ngaire gets a chance from her cruise she will also post. It is a fun social card game that many LCTers play on the sea days. Do you play "Texas Holdem". A few of us will try and get a friendly game or two of that going on the sea days also. Too bad you will miss the Bravo dinner but look for us around 6:30pm in Galilio's. It is on deck 11 in the stern.

It is my understanding that Brad and Leslie wanted to teach their nieces and nephews and did not think "oh hell" was the best name for children so I believe they came up with the name Pooch.

Very interesting. Starting with "Oh Hell", there are nearly a 100 names for Pooch, two of my favorites being "Oy Vey" and "Up Yours, You're not my friend". Someone of authority should add it to an already ridiculously extensive list:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oh_Hell#Alternate_names

Ralph, if getting consistently cleaned out by my 13 year old son counts as playing Texas Holdem, I guess, yes, I play.

We're not scheduled to arrive until past 8PM so I don't think we even have a shot at dessert, but we'll see you Galileos for sure.

True, Susan, about the origin of the name - however, when we played POOCH in college it had an even more colorful name than oh hell.... (also not listed on the wikepedia list!)

Leslie,
Sounds like you like to have fun. Sorry you won't be on FUN to teach us some.

I just finished, what a chore! I tried to fit everything in the 2 free suitcases to no avail, both were over weight and I hadn't even packed my clothes yet. So after rearranging 3 times into 3 suitcases, I finally got everything to fit.

Ellie, poor baby, has to spend FUN at my house. I don't think Clay & I can begin to entertain her like Betty, Pam, Jim, Carol and Ralph could! At least we can keep her out of the booze!!! :app: I'm not certain the same can be said for this group. :)

Everybody's going to laugh at me when they see our multitudes of suitcases, but that's just the way I pack.

For our very first Radisson cruise, our TA gave us one of those tote bags with the lyre stamped all over it. I have that in one of the suitcases, because I am addicted to Coke Zero in 12-oz bottles. Not cans. I believe that tote bag will hold four 8-packs, that I'll make a stop at Publix for. When we sailed with Suzie and Marilyn, they brought them to me, and we lugged plastic Publix bags around until we could get into our cabin. I'm hoping the tote will be easier to handle.

Can't wait!

I don't see one pair of shoes! Are they in the 3rd suitcase? <img src="http://smileys.sm..._9_3%2526uiv%253D3.0/image.gif">

We are ready!!
Some how we got everything so that we will have two checked bags and two carry ons. And both are around 38 pounds each! :D
Course my carry on may end up weighing 50 pounds by the time all the essentials are loaded.

This is going to look like a dumb question, but we've never been in a regular suite on Navigator. How many 110v outlets are there, and how many are accessible (we had one that was completely behind a television set)?

Thanks!

Yes Suzie, I moved the shoes to the third suitcase along with the liquids and whatever else didn't fit and then I got the original two cases under 50lbs.

That is one of my big airline beefs, my hair potions weigh a ton (I bring my own shampoo, etc) and it would be nice to put that heavy stuff in my carry on like the good old days.

Pam, there is one plug with two outlets in the desk area. I always bring a device that has three outlets and plug it into one of the ship outlets so I can charge three things at once. I got a neat little device from Dell over a year ago that I will show you on the ship. It has several places to plug in chargers.

we always take a electic strip along because of shortage of outlets.

LITTLE NERVOUS HERE!
About an hour ago it really started snowing hard.
It has since let up but still light flurries.
Just pulled up the weather forecast for tomorrow and possible heavy snows from here all the way to Rapid City!!

We always bring a looong electric cord so I can plug in my blow dryer and sit out at the vanity while drying my hair.

Jim, I hope the snow lets up! Mark and I were just talking the other day, it's not nearly as exciting to go to warmer weather, now that we live in a Caribbean type climate. Last year at this time, I would be DYING to get to the warmth!

So, there isn't a plug at the vanity? 'K, going back to find a longer extension cord (what I found was 6'). Ralph, I'm looking forward to seeing your gadget, I love new gadgety things.

Jim, fingers crossed for you!!!!

Over time most of my electronics have migrated to USB capable charging. Now some typical chargers don't supply enough juice for many devices, but if you have a Blackberry, their charger is bumped up a bit as the phone needs it (e.g. you can't charge a Blackberry with a Motorola charger even if the connector is standard USB). On the other hand, a Blackberry charger will charge most anything with a USB port, including a Garmin GPS and several varieties of MP3 players as well as the phone. It cuts down on a lot of accessorizing. Test it before depending on it.

Pam, definitely a 110 on the vanity. I use it everyday I'm on the ship for heat rollers.

No Blackberry here, iPhone. But I have two different camera battery chargers now, laptop, hair dryer. Should be fine since the clock(s) are battery powered.

Marti and I hope everyone enjoyed their short visit to St. Croix. We arrived as tourists 21 years ago and it has been our home ever since. We hope you come back soon.
Safe travels to all, Carl
