Hi Jim. Pete and I are also booked at the Embassy Suites. I read somewhere (probably tripadvisor) that it has recently been refurbed.

Betty, been too long to meet you! Looking forward to this cruise! I also finally get to meet Ralph, who Karen truly loves, and many other lct people, and we are not even escorted by the lovely Ngaire! Maybe she should send Linda in her place to keep us in order!

Suzie, you got it, I am on, and looking forward to being with you and Marilyn once more! I am solo, and the California girl and I have discovered after Luxor and Dubai that we are compatible roomies, but not sure whether this is a good time for her! She knows she is always welcome in my cabin if she will shed me of that 40% single supp! Not sure, as we are already scheduled for Navigator to see the Pyramids later in the year, Sept 28 if anyone is interested!

Just booked our flights on NWA for
this trip.
Instead of our usual 145 mile trip to Billings
Montana we will do a 220 mile trip to Rapid City
South Dakota. Saved a lot on airfare with better connections. Arrive FLL at 2:53 pm
Even found a Radisson Hotel in Rapid City where we can leave our car and take a free shuttle to and from the airport.

Air SO EASY for this one (well from the East Coast), for a change! SO nice not to be juggling points, wondering about upgrades for points, award travel, schedules, etc. What a relief!

I don't know the answer to that but I hope it's all country club casual ONLY because Mark's tux takes up too much room in our reduced luggage limit! I love formal nights but a girls gotta have her space!

I don't think they do formal anymore in the Caribbean? On this very intensive port cruise on B2B, we only had 2 informal nights each week, and all the rest were ccc. However, I saw a lot of dressed up ladies even on casual nights.

Just thought I would comment here that the 2 eleven-day Carib cruises in Dec. 2008 do have the dress codes posted and both show 2 formal nights. No way of knowing if the trend will continue into 2009 or not, but... Debbie

Debbie, how odd, the first cruise you listed has 2 formal nights in a row and only one informal night. So that means, a tux and a suit :( I don't think I ever remember two formals in a row, either.
But as we all know, the dress code posted at the online RSSC site and the dress code announced on ship usually don't jive.

Karen, New Year's Eve. But, that doesn't explain the 2 Formal nights on the other. As you say, who knows what it will actually be on your sailing months later. Fingers crossed for all of you for no Formal! Debbie

Karen, I too, am discouraged about those dress codes! Let's hope that things will change when they get out of the "holiday" season! I love "informal" nights, chance for the ladies to dress but not the pressure the guys DON'T want for one reason or the other.

On our April 7 Mariner Caribbean cruise we had two Formal nights and one Informal night.

For me I would be very happy with an all Country Club Casual cruise in the caribbean.

It was noted on my end of cruise comment card.

In November, we had two formal nights and two informal nights. Mark will have to buy new dressy clothes before that cruise, I just realized.

Jim, you may be on to something! Maybe we could all go on informal night and that is one less bulky suit we would have to bring! I don't know if I am willing to give up the Captain's dinner in Compass Rose, though as that is always my favorite menu!

I've noticed more and more men wearing suits instead of a tux on formal nights. A dark suit along with a complimentary pair of light slacks can cover formal & informal. Some wear a bow tie with the dark suit. I've never heard negative comments about it. I'm leaving the tux behind for the Discovery cruise to make room for snorkel gear.

We noticed the same thing on our recent Panama Canal and Alaska cruises. Even the ccc nights were extremely casual.

Last year on our Voyager Dec 7th cruise we had one informal night, I brought the sport coat and went Miami Vice sytle worked out very well for the packing. I like wearing my tux sometimes but with all the airline issues and this being sun and fun cruise, would rather CCC for us.

I think Regent is heading down a slippery slope. On B2B, we had CCC and four informal nights; no formals. I was very surprised, and disappointed, that they let men into Compass Rose without jackets on informal nights. I like the more relaxed dress code; however, Regent needs to make sure that it is enforced and that they not let Informal and CCC get too casual.

By the way, please add us to the roll call as we should be moving over one of our fake bookings in the next couple of weeks.

Oh boy! More and more FUN people!

I guess we'd really mess with their minds if we asked for tables and chairs, and service for (insert number here) in our living room on the dressy nights, wouldn't we?

Have we reached the requisite number of reservations to merit a B&K escort? Actually, this group may not need an "escort" .... a "chaperone" may be more appropriate!

We have never had a "suite" other than on Lamb in Horizon Suite boy I loved it!!!(did have another bigger room on Mariner, one time, the room we call a "double wide" with bigger sitting area so nice) but I agree Pam suites are sweet- the ability to entertain and have people in for cocktails in a Horizon suite was so much fun - we were next door to Matassas so we shared the entertaining. We had 6 in for dinner that was perfect! We wore grubs and chilled - AHHHH need more $$$$$
