YES! You will find me on the Canopy as well! I think Jim B is going too.

Now let's see if we can get Olivia, Ngaire, and Sheri!

I think Paige and I will be joining you on the canopy tour.

We are unsure of what to do elsewhere.

Anyone know of any reputable fishing outfits in Mazatlan. I would prefer to have the boat with one or two others, and not like it appears you have to have it on the RSSC site.

Jim and Jan are signed up for
1. Canopy Tour Puerto Vallarta.
2. Wildlife Expedition Mazatlan.

Think we will wait and see about Cabo San Lucas
unless there is something that is a "got to do"
which somebody recommends.

Sheri,

Paige is interested in horseback riding in Mazatlan. I would like to find a private comp[any that maybe will not take 7 hours. I'll keep looking.

Wildlife Expedition in Mazatlan?
What's that? A trip to a Bar with the LCT crew?

Sheri, isn't that the one you and Suzanne and I are on? The Margarita excursion?

Ummmm....to tell you the truth, I thought Suzanne was just talking about doing our (you, Suzanne and me)own margarita excursion...BUT, I could be wrong! I am flexible...if that IS the excursion, I am game...I have asked Suzanne a few times what excursions she is doing, and she has never said...

That's the one I was talking about, the Margarita Excursion with the chicken hearted souls who won't leap off platforms. Of course, Scott is now welcome to make sure we get back to the ship!

Mazatlan Wild life excursion
Drive to pier. Get on boat. cruise the bay and see sights. Do a short walk. 1 1/2 hour beach time. back to pier.
I think Sheri and Suzanne's may be wilder and possibly more fun. cheer

Love your definition of the Wildlife Expedition. That would be so much fun as everyone crawled back to the ship - passengers & crew. I doubt if the Capt would find it amusing unless he would go along.

MARGARITAS IN MAZATLAN

Maybe there should be a subAcronym for this cruise as MIM?

I think it may be a good idea to drop stolen shoes on the path to the MIM party to help get back to the ship.

Anthony,
don't know if this might be what you're looking for. Seems to be very popular on the CC Port of Call Board:

The one Olivia is refering to is the "Pollos in Margaritaville" excursion (

No Trees for me - Margaritas, OUI!

Parasailing after margaritas? That might be the ONLY way I'd do parasailing!

We've signed up for the canopy as well. The only excursion as of yet - we'll play the others by ear, we think.

We've signed up for the Canopy Tour again, since we had sooo much fun...however,Peter right now is all for sleeping in so he may not do it again.

I would like to go to Hacienda Las Moras so I've signed us up for that. I checked out their website, and it looks right up my alley http://www.lasmoras.com/

We are not doing anything in Cabo, partly because I didn't "get it" (I actually felt like it was my hometown of Zacapa, Guatemala that had been overtaken by Los Gringos  :p ...nothing wrong with that, except that there are barrios in LA where you would get the same feel, if you know what I mean??) when we went in March (other than I found a great supermarket with a good tequila section and magazines in Spanish that I like to read!!) but our friend Tanya Moss the jewlery designer has a store there and we may stop in to say hello and do some light shopping. Of course, Los Arcos is spectacular and we will get a great view from the ship!

If folks are still interested in a Tequila 101 course, I would be happy to throw something together...that being said, I may need some volunteers to request the following tequilas in order to do a proper sampling:

Herradura Silver
Cazadores Reposado
Patron Anejo
Gran Centenario Anejo or Reposado
Don Julio Anejo or Reposado...I know for a fact this is what the Mariner has on board...maybe I can talk Erdy or Julio the bartenders I befriended in March to spare me some samples 8)

Anyway, anybody interested, let me know. If we can't round up the samples this way, I may have go do Bev and MOre to round up some small bottles 8)

Ana Luisa - I'd be interested! I'd love to help - I'll be in Sacto before LA and I can try pick up stuff at Bev & More as well.

Ana Luisa -
Tequila 101 (he says as sipping Cabo Wabo)?

Sounds good to me!

I'll have to look into the canopy tour - I took one in Costa Rico & it was awful - saw absolutley nothing - it was just a ski lift over trees.
Is this one better?

And interested in the fishing as well.

Gil,

There's a difference...

Keeping the "Ski" theme going...

There is the "chair lift" over the canopy (been there done that in Costa Rica, yes, you too?) and the horizontal "rope tow", except it's your weight (or some other obscene force) that zings you along from platform to platform.

OK, you get the mental image.

I don't get it?? So does this require me to have physical strength to sling myself along?...if so FORGET IT! I'd never get off the platform.

You can find me on the "Margarita Tour", no problem lifting those glasses! cheer

I think your weight and the angle of the steel cable gives you the zip you need to go platform to platform!

Ana Luisa,
You know Tanya Moss? I bought one of her design pieces on the Navigator, a volcanic rock chip and 18kgold necklace...love it and want the earrings to match but not the ones the ship had. Tell her I love her jewelry although I did get into serious trouble going through customs!

Hi Suzie...

Yes, we met them in March on the Mariner and became friends...partly because her husband went to Columbia b-School, like my husband Peter did (that is how the conversation started...they both were wearing Columbia Hats) and partly because we are the same age and since I'm from Guatemala...a lot in common!! We basically hung out the entire cruise 8). So we are hoping to meet them in the Cabo store if they can come over under the guise of a field visit (they are horribly busy, the two of them...they spend a lot of time in the Cozumel store...), if not, I still want to stop into the store and do some shopping ;)

What sort of trouble did you have in customs? I'm curious!!

Ana Luisa,
My trouble was my own stupidity...thinking I didn't have to declare any large purchase made on the ship since it "was my home for 11 days" and not bought in port...what I didn't know was the ship sends a report of all major purchases directly to customs. I was singled out and embarrassed and paid a fine and given a lecture :( . I was lucky they let me keep it.

Anyone doing the Horseback riding excursion. I was wondering if doing an independent one (mentioned by Vicki) would be better?

Paige is really interested in this but not sure of doing it independently.

I have decided to do some sportfishing but will likely do an independent charter.

Hi Suzie...

Ouch...that would get you into trouble! Nothing that a lot of kowtowing and I'm sorry I understand now didn't remedy I hope?

Jawbreaker...see my above reference to Hacienda Las Moras which is the RSSC contracted operator for horseback riding in Mazatlan.
