Ahhhhh - Finally booked something. Haven't cruised since MINT, and the stress & tension of not even having anything booked was getting to me. So booked Jan 27 Navigator FLL to SJU today. WHEW!
The theme is Caribbean cooking. Arlene is looking forward to ME learning to make some new dishes! ;)

Gil, I know what you mean...having nothing booked gives you such an empty feeling! Looks like a wonderful itinerary for you! Congratulations. I have not cruised RSSC yet - I have to learn, what are these "themes" all about? Do they have special culinary types on board?

Congrats Gil and Arlene!
Too bad you aren't taking a later sailing. My father is on 14 Feb sailing from SJU; we are joining for a three night pre cruise.

Gil & Arlene,
Ida and I look fwd to sailing with you--we will have two Weiner couples on board!
Our friends Dave and Laura (ColDave) is on our sailing too..as well as another LCT Couple...
We will have to plan "LCT" get togethers as we get closer.
Now we need a name for our cruise!
PS. Dave and I are divers so we will dive 3-5 times during the trip..plus the best excursion in the caribbean (America Cup sailing on St. Thomas) is offered..be sure to sign up
r/Wes

Name suggestion: Partyers In Navigator Adventure (across the) Caribbean - Onboard Lounging And Diving Azure Seas
PINA COLADAS
Be sure to have one in San Juan. Some of the best I've ever tasted.
I have to pull together the rest of the Bartender's Guide to Naming Cruises. I see income potential! :D Cheers, Anne

Good Name, BUT: But if you ask us if we like the name, following Pina Coladas is "getting caught in the rain." We don't want that on the cruise, do we? (I wonder if anyone understands my reference? I had Caffeine at dinner time last night - so I am sleep deprived right now - sorry for the ramblings! )

Sip your Pina Coladas while listening to Jimmy Buffet - GREAT name for a cruise!!!!!
"Yes I like Pina Coladas And getting caught in the rain I'm not much into health food I am into champagne I've got to meet you by tomorrow noon And cut through all this red-tape At a bar called O'Malley's Where we'll plan our escape." ,

OK Joanna - Then you'll have to come along with us - and we'l do this as a Duet. That would force all the passengers off the ship however.

Yes, Bill's (Billy Davis, Jr.) name was in the song; however,Marilyn (Marilyn McCoo), his wife, was the sole singer of that tune. Both are original members of Fifth Dimension.
The song is Wedding Bell Blues. I believe it was written by Laura Nyro.

AND DO NOT FORGET:
One of the most popular singing groups in the world, the classics of The 5th Dimension include such hits as "Up, Up, and Away," "Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In," "One Less Bell to Answer," "Never My Love," "Wedding Bell Blues," "Stoned Soul Picnic," "(Last Night) I Didn't Get To Sleep At All,"

Have great news, bad news, good news, and better news…we had to drop off January’s Pina Colada cruise…Ida was recently hired as a counter terrorism analyst (she did this for the 20 years before she retired from the Army in 2000) for our First Army Headquarters here in Atlanta, where the (Katrina Army General), Lt. General Honore is the Commanding General…she starts in 10 days…thus, we can’t in good conscience ask For ten days off within the first four months of her new job.
The good news, is thanks to the urging of Anthony, Olivia, and Don, looked hard at SS Silver sailings, and special thanks to our stellar T/A “Dive Diva"—Susan Walsh and with her precise dive recommendations, we choose what SS calls “Diver’s Delight:†(San Juan to Ft. Lauderdale (Dominican Republic, Grand Cayman,Coz, Belize, Jamaica). Our super T/A got us a Vista cabin with a shared balcony—very hard to get.
The better news is this nine night cruise is the lowest per diem $242 of all 54 2006 Silver Sailings. Can’t believe the SS cruise costs less per night than the RSSC 7 night navigator cruise ($242 vs $285)
However, we will miss cruising with LCTr’s; Arlene & Gill, Dave and Laura, Mike and heather.
PS. Anthony when you call Ngaire suggest you have her ask Susan Walsh for cabin 727, think the ship is filling up

Gil,
The Navigator doesn't really lend itself to great pole dancing as far as we could tell. LOL
We decided to take Marcie's advice and book the Hyatt Pier 66 for 135.00 on priceline.

Anthony, we also booked the Hyatt based on the hotel mogul Marcie's advice...since once you pay it's yours, we may fly down for two nights 27-28. If so, we have to link up for a drink or 2 or 3, will let u know as the end of the year draws near...r/wes
ps..thanks Gil & Marcie for Ida's well wishes

Guess I gotta head on over to Priceline & book the Hyatt. Out flight gets us into FLL mid-afternoon, so we can certainly get together that evening.

Darn I'm sorry you won't be sailing with us Wes and Ida, but am happy for her new job. Congrats to Ida.
And glad to hear you booked another great cruise. Definitely let's get together the night before.
And Im looking forward to meeting all the other LCT people. Maybe even if there are no poles, Paige can give me some tips. ;)
