So guys, I guess we're on "doc watch" now, eh? It should not be long.

At some point we should do a proper roll-call, with a list of cabin numbers. I'll start:

Wendy and David Harrison, #651

Pat & I are in 745. So far, it looks like we're all on the starboard side. In principle, that should have the better views considering the direction we're sailing.

Fred, does that mean you can stomp around and bother Kathy and Frank just below?? If the odd-numbers hold true, it looks we're all on the "right" side of the ship, in more ways than one!

Well, in view of the fact that we'll be visiting Spain, I had considered practicing my infamous flamenco routine each morning at about 5:30. That certainly involves some heel pounding; but after visiting the Alhambra we might not be in Malaga long enough for me to find a pair of those cool flamenco boots (and it will be a Sunday, too - rats!!). The heel pounding just wouldn't be the same in my penny loafers.

David and Pierce aren't on the list....That makes 13. And I thought Count Florida had been reserved at one time, but, not sure.

I wrote a song for us to sing - (to the tune of my Darling Clementine)

Oh, My Documents, Oh My Documents
Oh, My Darling Documents

They are somewhere,
They are somewhere
On their way to Our Ngaire
Who will Fed Ex them to us shortly
oh my darling documents.

They are Regent, They Are Regent
For the Voyager June Nine
On their way to us by Fed Ex
oh my darling Documents
in their new Regent Holders
For the Voyager June Nine!

Hi everyone. Tonya and I are starting to plan some excursions for our cruise in August which is basically a reverse of your cruise. We are interested in what you guys have decided to do in the ports. Sounds like you've arranged a lot of private tours. Specifically, we are curious about a reputable wine tour for the Bordeaux stop. I can't wait to hear all the reports from your cruise. It's going to be a great sneak preview for us!

Thanks!

Funny John, I was going to create a ticker, and it was going to be just like yours! I didn't bother, cause it's so close.

We will tell you all about our Bordeaux adventure, for sure. I didn't book it, Kathy did, and Fred ironed out the details.

Your other ports are a bit different, I see, Barcelona instead of Malaga. But you still hit Santander and La Coruna, so we'll be able to tell you about our private tour in the former, and I will be able to report to you about the ship's tour to Santiago de Compostela.

Hi John,

Somehow, we will manage to post something about the trip, if not live on board, then a short trip report afterward. We used guides mostly from the private guides section of the board.

The guide in Monte Carlo was busy, so I suggest you book now. We have a 1/2 day in Lisbon, Santander, Malaga, Bordeaux all booked for private tours. In Honfleur, we think we're walking around the town or catching a taxi from the dock to not sure where yet. And in London, we're putting on our walking shoes and just going!

David and Pierce remain unassigned! Was wondering about the on-line restaurant reservations. Do you need to enter your suite number? That would put us at a disadvantage.
Also, my TA thought (but admitted she wasn't sure) that on-line restaurant reservations are for butler suites only. The web site doesn't make that distinction (, yet). Does anybody know for sure?

For restaurant reservations, I thought we should wait until we find out what nights the Cordon Bleu events are. 2nd night is formal, so I guess that it will be 3rd night.

Shall we pick a night, make a reservation for Signatures and cancel it if we have a CB event? Then we can find out?

Help. I guess I'm having a "senior week" but I can not see how to do on line reservations. When I go to "My Cruises" WAVE appears (with suite number). I can book shore excursions just fine, but I cannot see a place for restraunt reservations. Oddly enough, if I click on the cruise itself (to show itinerery and formal nights) I'm offered an opportunity to Make a Reservation for the cruise itself, but nothing I can find for dining reservations. David suggested only Butler served Suites get the on line booking capability? Also, we are only silver so maybe it's a Gold thing? However, I'm guessing I just am not seeing and clicking the right things. So if someone with patience could give me a step by step, I'll treat to a big strawberry soda pop when we meet.

Thanks,
Greg

Kathy, can you describe the usual CB events? I thought there was a dinner on the last night? So there's another special dinner event? How many in total?

We had a cocktail party, Dinner in La Verandah with officers, Dinner for Graduation in Signatures, A class for Appetizers, Main Course and Dessert. We also had a galley tour which really included all the bowels of the ship including the water processing area, garbage area, and dry cleaning and laundry facilities.

I went to my saved cruises and we're too early for dinner reservations:

Yes, and we will probably get a separate invite to dine with an officer as well. Not that I am thrilled to do that (they can be kinda stiff) but depends on the officer.

<img border="0" alt="[vhappy]" title="" src="graemlins/icon_vhappy.gif" /> What if we have Capt. Dag???

Yeh, well I'm used to the Captain's dinners, dinner with an officer. Kinda stiff, you're right, but fine. And you can always turn them down if you like. But that's nothing to do with the cordon bleu group, just the normal invite, right?

Yep, I guess the docs will be coming this week! David is now getting excited too.

And tonight is our Toronto LCT dinner, so we get to talk about travel!!

Of course, as soon as you come home, you can start obsessing about MUSH, you lucky guys!

For you former Voyager guys, is it true that Latitudes is always CCC, and thus a reservation there could be used to "dodge" a formal night? Just a thought... I guess we'll find out in a couple of days whether for the online booking forces you book a table for a specific number of people or not. "Dining with others" is usually a good choice for us.

I always thought Latitudes was like CR, and held to the dress code for the night. May be wrong here, but I thought Veranda was the only place to escape dress code.

Olivia, you are right. LaVeranda is the CCC restaurant, not Latitudes.

I love obsessing...it's my second occupation. (lol).

Yes, La Verandah will allow you to skip that Tux and formalwear if you don't want to dine ensuite.

Thanks for clarifying. I'll talk to David and see if he cares. Since it's a dark suit for him, that usually means a tie on informal nights as well, so we could take a break one of those nights instead. I'm guessing that online booking should get turned on tomorrow.

We have a tour of the Normandy Beaches set up for our stop in Honfleur. The web site of the tour company is:

http://www.normandywebguide.com/

There are currently 5 of us in an eight passenger van. If anyone is interested in details or might want to join please let me know.

Due to time constraints the particular sites we'll plan on visiting are:

Pegasus Bridge and Museum
Pointe du Hoc
Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery

and time permitting

Longues sur Mer(German Coastal Deense Battery portrayed inthe movie The Longest Day) and
Arromanches

Argh, the suspense is killing me. Can't wait to hear when we are going to get our docs!

Well, at least I was able to make some dinner reservations at Signatures and Lattitudes. The reservation page tells you what else is going on that evening (i.e., Captain's Reception, Repeater's Night, etc.).

Do not seem to need your suite number to make reservation.

I thought the system worked really nice.

Oh cool, so I can go ahead and book La Veranda for the second formal night! Oh, but I see that it's the usual, you can't actually book an open table, a la "join some others". So, I guess I'll just book a table for 2.

Oh, but I only see Latitudes and Signatures. Oh well, I guess we're back to winging it.

So, the docs will be another week or so. So I'm cool and calm.

Wendy,
What you can do is book a table for (say) 6 with the expectation of adding others or trying to mod your reservation once on board.
