Cruising with Aunt Ruth!!!!

Yes…. She is all that’s been said about her….she’s a Hoot. I have very fond memories of the sixteen days on the Mariner transatlantic with this wonderful lady.

She is not very big, but what she lacks in size, she makes up for in her very “straight forward” and very “outspoken” approach to life….. She’s “no nonsense”, but she’s a real delight….

Her proficiency at the daily bridge games became well known, as did her distain for those who did not play up to her very high standards I watched her test the talents of the gentlemen dance hosts as she whirled around the floor with boundless energy.

I made the serious mistake of being a few minutes late for a dinner “date” with her, one evening. I apologized profusely, but I did not escape an excruciatingly painful verbal reprimand. I received a provisional pardon and I was placed on probation pending her opinions of my future conduct. Thereafter, I was careful not to be late!!!!!

To all those who have booked this cruise, I urge you to meet and get to know Aunt Ruth; she will add a great deal to your cruise experience.

Thank you for the info on aunt Ruth. I bet she can be deadly! I don't know if you've read any of my previous posts to Marnalou about aunt Ruth, but ladies like her absolutely intrigue me! I know I'm going to aggravate 'em, but I can't help myself - it's just too much fun being around them!

Think about joining us on the MINT. We'll give you another shot at aunt Ruth! Hopefully this time you'll leaving the aggravating to me and just enjoy her company!

I will post from the ship! Updates, an occasional pic etc.

I will also be happy to post pics from the ship. I usually take a TON of digital photos on our trips and can even burn all MINT-ers a CD after the trip -- I do that for our schools and church (e.g., school plays, soccer tournaments, etc. with 700+ photos per CD).

Oh wow Luke. May have to take you up on that.
We have a digital camera but just learning how to use it and always are interested in more pictures.
On our PG cruise Dolebluger took lots of pictures and sent us a wonder CD.

From the sounds of the MINT-ers, it sounds like I'll need to be somewhat discreet with the photos and avoid blackmail material ... then again, maybe that would help pay for another cruise or two!

I'm sure the photos on the NorFjor723 will be more "scenic" but not nearly as fun!

Good point. You may be able to pay for the trip, but based on past pictures I have seen of the group, they are either already paying blackmail money, OR they just don't care because they were having to much fun.

Marcie, I will e-mail Ngaire Monday to get my cabin number. I thought it was in an e-mail, but can't find it. We downgraded our "upgrade" back to our original suite, as I prefer to be lower in the ship for stability, so we are on deck 7. Guess my shoes will be safe!

Roberta was with us on the Paul Gaugin. She does not have a computer! All the talking with her you want to do, either use my or Gretchen's services. FYI, Gretchen is back in business computer wise. She's a bit shy about posting on LCT, but give her a bit of time - I know she'll be a regular yacker...

Uh-oh. This now promises headaches the next morning if Todd has a cosmo party in his room. Too much trouble for him....from the likes of LV that was fun, but for Todd? Maybe we should all just meet in the bar. I don't even know what time we are getting there, but our bodies (but not Masaki's) will think it is three hours later! As we move toward the date, need to get someone to arrange our vans to get a count to get us to port. Not now, just thinking ahead.

Just my thoughts.
How many times are you sooooooo excited the first day of vacation, or when you get somewhere that you over celebrate the moment it starts.

Jim I have done that celebrating thing more times than I want to remember, usually on the plane back in the 80's with all of our friends. We were really obnoxious. But back then, the flight attendants were much more tolerant.
