Donna, never have to sip a champagne or a cosmo or anything, When you get on, those north seas will tell you what to do!! The sun is always shining, even at midnight when we are on the ship! It is going to be daylight all the time, so we don't have to talk about having a cosmo or whatever "at night", you know!

I find Captain Knute more personable. We have sailed with both. If you are not female, Captain Dag doesn't seem to spend much time mixing with passengers; Captain Knute is always around.

Have sailed with both - Capt Knute on 2 cruises and Dag for 34 nights WC - BOTH are charming men - Dag spent alot of time with Tony and Tom Matassa so never saw any of the female vs male thing - very postive experiences with both men -

Joanna, I am probably in the minority as most do seem to prefer Captain Dag. Of course, Capt Neil Broomhall has been my favorite Captain; I wish Regent would find a way to get him back.

and don't forget wonderful Capt. Philippe on the Mariner. I wish he'd have a "Homecoming cruise" someday...,guess we'll just have to settle to cruise with him on MUSH.
Editing to add: Marc, Tom really enjoyed Capt. Dag's company and went up to the "open" bridge most every morning! I never sensed it was only the ladies who hit it off with him??

"Dag Homecoming" just wouldn't have the same ring if it was "Dag Homecoming with Knute Instead". Or "Dag Homecoming, Starring Knute".

Friends just stayed at the Marriott and were very pleased (they usually stay at Fairmont properties) Have read good things about it. We had reservations at the Radisson SAS across from the Tivoli Gardens, but, 9-11 happened and we ended up in the Panama Canal.

Jeez! Thanks, guys. Hope we don't act-up in grumpy old people fashion! Been reading the Seabourn board where "canes and wheelchairs" are frowned upon (I do think the guy was referring to HAL, though, in all honesty) and we really haven't gotten to that stage yet!!!
