I get to post here too!!!!
We will be sailing on the Voyager Dec.14-21 to the western Caribbean.

Sue, I just realized that your Navigator cruise leaves out of FL the same day, and the following day the ships are together in Key West. Let's keep that in mind....perhaps we could plan for a "hi there" sometime.

Hi Betty I sure didn't realize that our cruises would have ports in common - that is great! We would love to be able to meet and say HI! We are staying at the Hyatt Pier 66 the night before the cruise.

In Key West we are signed up for the Orchids & Hidden Gardens tour - by chance are you doing that one? Then, we plan to just window shop for a few hours before heading back to the ship.

Thanks, Karen. You are sweet. I too, wish we could be with you, and all those other FINE folks on LAMB, but the good news is....I don't have to stay home, all the while you're there and pout!!

Sue, we are probably not doing a tour in Key West. We'll work on trying to meet up, as time draws closer and plans are more firm, o.k.

We're on the December 14th Voyager western Caribbean (with Betty K.)

The itinerary will be changing (I am pretty well certain), since Costa Maya suffered catastrophic damage from Hurricane Dean, but the new itinerary has not been announced.

Cool that we're in Key West same day as Navigator, I did not know that! Here's the itinerary as it stands:

Dec 14 Friday Ft Lauderdale, FL
Dec 15 Saturday Key West, FL
Dec 16 Sunday Cozumel
Dec 17 Monday Belize City
Dec 18 Tuesday Santo Tomas de Castilla
Dec 19 Wednesday Costa Maya
Dec 20 Thursday At Sea
Dec 21 Friday Ft Lauderdale, FL

We don't have excursions planned in Key West either, we'll probably just wander a bit.

Great itineraries for you all! Sue, I am glad you're trying the Navigator - we enjoyed our time on that ship VERY much.

Doris, I am jealous - we would love to do a Panama Canal transit. What a wonderful way to spend Christmas!

Sue, I've never been to Key West via the cruise port before, hoping that it will be easy to spot people coming and going.

We're slumming in FLL this time; we're staying the night before at a funky little 3-star that's recommended on Tripadvisor, called Tropi Rock. I'm hoping for something approaching the older Florida that I grew to love in the 80's.

Karen, can you remind me of the website that lists all the ships in port on a given day? I want to check and see if we're the only ships in Key West that day.

Wendy; the one time I was in Key West on a cruise (the not so FUN ships)there was a little trolley you could hop on that would take you to the shopping area and back to the ship. I believe we were docked in a Naval yard, but it was so long ago I really don't recall for sure. ;)

We could all try to meet at a location - if it is still there. I remember the Tortuga Rum Cake shop area had a huge pirate statue outside maybe we could try to be there at a certain time once the excursions are finished for those of us on them. I think ours will be over with around noon or just before.

Wendy, Karen may be sleeping in this morning! :)
I think THIS may be the site you are looking for.
It shows the Voyager to be the only ship there on the 15th, but Regent's site does show the Navigator there also.

Edited to say: Sue & Wendy, We could all meet at Sloppy Joe's. There is a webcam there where we could wave at our LCT friends, but our Super Stalker, Karen will be away on Lamb, so we'd need another stalker. Robert???? Beth??? anyone???

It's fairly close to the cruise port I think. There's also a HoHo trolley that we might consider, although it's pricey. I've been there twice, once with David. The whole city is walkable, but old feet get tired. I actually don't like the touristy area in the northwest part of town as much as walking through the nice neighbourhoods further south. Another argument for the HoHo.

When I look for Sloppy Joe's on Google Maps, I actually see two of them. So we'll have to specify the one on Duval Street, if we decide to meet there. Corner of Greene and Duval.

I just googled Sloppy Joes and I think I recall going by there when we did a trolley tour with the "other ship" years ago. It was not down by the main shops and so forth, it seemed to be off in a more residential and quiet neighborhood...is that correct? :)

That's not how I remember it.

Here's a decent map I found:
http://www.clubvacationkeywest.com/map-keywestmap.htm

According to Sloppy Joe's website, it's at the corner of Greene and Duval, right in the thick of it.

We are finished at 11:30, so we could be to the bar by 12noon at the latest I would think. That would give us a good hour to meet and greet! If our tour is close enough we could be there right after 11;30.

Karen; if we should start a Key West thread just let us know. ;)

Andrea - You are in for a real treat! You're an early riser, so grab your choice of balinese bed or sunchair on the bow end of the top deck ... life is sweet! Free bikes if you like at port stops and water platform will make workouts a breeze.

Cheers, Anne
