Finally did it! As many of you know, Gail and I were on Panda and continued on the next segment to Bangkok and then went to Angkor Wat. I finally finished setting up a gallery of about 350 (out of 2200) photos and put captions on each. (It took a lot of reconstructing to figure out some of the temple names, etc.--if you see any mistakes, please let me know.)

After my visit to the Apple store this morning, I decided to post them on the Mac Gallery at the link below. I think it works pretty well, as far as I can tell. No charge for friends to view and also easy to download. Uploading is fairly fast--at least compared with my experience with Kodak Gallery. Let me know if you have any problems viewing them or any other questions.

Eugene that must have taken forever so many wonderful pictures and all the captions. GREAT photography. It was so fun to look at these again and remember the trip. It was a wonderful PANDA experience. I loved the serious pearl shopping shot. Not the incredible photography of many of your pictures but it made me laugh. Always a good thing.

Great photos, Eugene! I love the expression on my face in that photo of me in Hong Kong - I look like I just swallowed something very sour! :D

Eugene - what a wonderful album! I can only image how long it took to put it together. The site loaded perfectly, too. Thank you for putting it all together.

The shots from the Terra Cotta Warrior pits and museum are among the best I've seen.

Masaki - what WAS it you swallowed? ;)

Cheers, Anne

Thanks for the exceptional pics. I loved the water pics, and the silk farm pics were very interesting. All of the pics were great and made me anxious for our SS April 2009 trip.

We went to Hong Kong in 1997 and didn't get many decent pics of Victoria's Peak due to fog. Yours are great.

It looks like you saw so much. I'd have loved to have seen all 2200 pics! I bet you will treasure these memories.

The tea ceremony looked interesting, too.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. It makes all the work worth it. Now I need to "steel myself" before CAMEL. Since the trip will be only half as long, I hope I'll be able to post photos a little more quickly.

I do strongly suggest that anyone planning on taking the Hong Kong-Singapore segment this year (or next?) consider seriously going to Angkor Wat. Unless Regent is doing a "reasonable" add-on, I'd just arrange it on your own. Air was easy from Bangkok (and I think also from Singapore), and our hotel was amazing with a spa beyond belief (and not very expensive).

Great photos. Were the pictures of the silk farm taken while on a ships tour?

Thank you so much for posting the great photos. They are breathtaking and have us truly excited. We leave in 2 weeks for Singapore, Bangkok and on to Angkor Wat. We are staying at the Hotel de la Paix, which I believe was your hotel.
Thanks for taking the time to post. If you have any tips on Siem Reap, we'd appreciate them.

John and Kathy,

Yes, the Hotel de la Paix was our hotel--great. If you send me your e-mail address, I'll send some thoughts on Siem Reap. I have a GDP news release to prepare for tomorrow, so I may not get to it until the weekend.

Fantastic photos, Eugene! I especially liked the ones near the beginning of the gardens with the the beautiful reflections in the water, with Kinkaku-ji: Golden Pavillion being my favorite. I showed my husband that first group of pictures since he had been to Japan once on business and took a week-end to visit Kyoto.

And since I am a "critter person" I'm happy that you included the turtle hitchhiker, the grey & white cats and the mouse.

Like Sue, I also really enjoyed the beauty of the fan dance.
