Hello Cruise-a-holics,

I hope this is not a dumb question but can you folks tell me the difference in the cabins for the best value.

I see class D,E,F,G and H are almost identical in size but the price has a $9000 swing.

The prices are between $45,000 to $54,000 which one would you choose??

Is the Hoizon cabin worth the money??

Last question is the price more for 2 single rooms??

Once again thanks for all the greeetings and help with a newbie's questions.

I can't seem to get the "Love Boat" song out of my head....downloaded and listening. :3smile:

Take Care.

Marc

The price goes up according to the deck...the higher, the more expensive even though it is exactly the same size cabin. There are no single cabins so of course 2 cabins is more expensive than one cabin.

Depending upon your budget you may want to look into the larger suites. In our case we always opt for the least expensive midship cabin and are perfectly satisfied. (we would prefer to be on a lower deck even if the prices were the same).

I'd love to hear more about you. What cruises have you been on thus far? What is the longest cruise you've taken? Are you a Doctor (we have several on this board) or is this just your screen name?

Depends on which ship you're talking about. On both Mariner and Voyager all of the staterooms from H thru D are the same size ( 356 sqft on Voyager and 301 on Mariner). On Voyager the lifeboats stick out a bit and there is some view restriction on the lower decks; not the case on Mariner. If you haven't cruised RSSC before I'd choose something amidships in the Cat E and F arena. If you're talking about Navigator, which has some window staterooms, I'd take something on deck 6 just forward of the atrium starboard side. The Horizon suites are no larger than the others; you just have a larger deck. Some like them and some don't. Not worth the extra money in my humble opinion. You will have to pay a single supplement for two single rooms. Bunk together if you can.

Hello Petlover,

Is midship the best area?? What is the advantage on a longer cruise to be higher or lower??

I am surprising my Mom for her 65th birthday with this cruise and that's why I need 2 rooms.

I hope that I will find some cool people to hang out with since I am kinda going alone. I have decided not to take the girlfriend for many reasons.

This is my first high end ship and the first that is longer than 10 days.

Celebrity Cruises 2-Not bad
Norwegian Cruises 2- Yuck
Princess Cruises 1-Good

I am not a doctor but they call me the Doctor at work. I work for Lexus Corporation in the Hybrid division.

Bye for now.

Marc

Dr. Cruise, are you still talking about the 2007 World Cruise on the Voyager?

Dr. Cruise, don't forget about the Single Supplement. It looks like that is 30% for the lower level cabins.

My opinion for what it's worth...

The lower the cabin, the less movement you feel, the more midship, the less movement you feel. Therefore, if you have any type of queesiness related to rocking ships, you will be happier on a lower deck.

On the Voyager, I love the most basic rooms. I think the G rooms are the best because they are convenient to everything and are very private.

On the Mariner, I tend to like the higher floors because they have a laundry room on the halls. On this ship, I like the Penthouse suites (C class) the best. I would opt for the larger room on a long trip.

Dan, 1017 is a GREAT cabin! Very spacious and close to both the elevator and laundry room. Excellent choice! (never stayed in the G's but I've seen them and they're quite a bit smaller). For such a long cruise you made the right choice.

2006 World Cruise is really almost out of the question for two singles. The single supplement is gone and so you have to pay for two people in each cabin even if only one person is in the cabin.

The 2007 world cruise guarantees a 30% single supplement until 12/15/05 and then it may also disappear.

Not much left in the way of good cabins for 2006. We are past the first cancel period where you lose 20% so most of those who were going to cancel would have done so by now. There are always cancelations for emergencies and waitlists clear more often than people realise.

We stayed in 1010 and loved it. We have stayed in a G on the Mariner. 1010 is twice as large widthwise. It has a double sized balconey. The Bathroom and closet are the same size, but the room feels much more spacious and the couch is a marvelous L shape. I don't really like the basic cabins on the Mariner as they don't seem as well laid out as the Voyager cabins...the dressing table is in a bad spot. We had the chance to move to an aft cabin, which was more expensive, I think, and much preferred the open layout of the penthouse suites.
