I know that my "newness" to this board must really be showing, but why do we name the crossing and why do we need a certain amount of folks to do so???

Carol, when a cruise has 10 or more LCTers on board, we name it so it is easier to identify. It is much easier than listing the ship and date of the cruise each time you want to refer to it. We also do it because it's fun!
