I just named this thread because my brother calls us that, but he thinks it is so neat. Tonight at dinner, friends begged to get on the waiting list for ROAR. I am just posting to say that I am honored to be among a great travel group that sometimes does, and sometimes doesn't get together. But when they do, something happens, and it invites more and more travel with the group. I hope we can keep this going for years and years ahead!

Are we really a cult? UH, YEAH!!
My "other" friends say "Oh you're traveling with your 'cruise friends' again or 'those people from THAT Board'" and roll their eyes.
OK, so what shall our cult be called?? The Lifelong Cult Teammates, the LapofLuxury Cult Travelers, the LCTsomethings??
I'm so glad we have a cult leader. Ngaire, I'd follow you anywhere...

Even though I have only traveled with two LCTers, this place is a community. Call it a cult, or whatever you like. We are a group of friends who first enjoyed cruising. Now we have become a place many of us visit daily or weekly to get our fix!! We get involved in each others live, sometimes it feels like a soap opera. mmm, All My Cruises?? As the Ship Turns?? The Cruises of Our Lives?? Long may we live!!!

Call us what you (or they, as the case may be) will.
Unless you've been a part of the great dynamics of our group, those who've not joined in can't understand the comeraderie we feel as participants of LCT and/or cruising/traveling together, whether that be on sea or land. The added bonus is many of us have forged friendships - in person and on-line.
The boards we met on began as forums to share our love of cruising, travel and to glean information. It has evolved into so much more and we are the more fortunate for that. LCT is the "Cheers" of the cruising message boards. After a post or two.."everyone knows your name" and welcomes you!
How about multi-informational alliance? Sounds very official!
Now, let's all get into the lotus position and recite our mantra....C...R...U....I...S...E!

It IS funny that others who haven't joined in yet just cannot grasp the concept....I have quit telling people just who it is I cruise with. I think they have some vision of internet predators or something!
Scott tries to get me to explain to him what this is about...I have given up, and am going to let him experience it first hand.
It (we) certainly are addicting!!

Denise - not only does everyone know your name, they also know your face as you will learn when I finally get my trip report written and posted. Rob (Robbo1) was the first of 6 people to say "Kathy?" when they first got near me on our FP trip.

I think its a pretty cool cult and we don't have to wear Nike sneakers, thank goodness.
Maybe we should create a secret handshake.

Are we a cult? I don't know. Being I work on a computer all day, I think of you as the gang hanging out at the watercooler. We have a lot in common, we virtually like each other and we get to vacation together now and then. We watch out for one another. Like extended family, we have a bite to eat once in a while. Seems we cry when one gets hurt and we make each other laugh when that is called for. Call it what you may. But don't try to explain it to those who won't get it.

I haven't met any of you yet, either, and I am looking forward to doing so on Pip. I'm not actually much of a "joiner", but I have really enjoyed meeting people on cruises, and do enjoy this group, although I don't join in much of the "water cooler" chat.
It will be interesting seeing so many avatars come to life!

This is a wonderful board. Reading about everyone's cruise adventures (and all the other postings)is so much fun. I am constantly quoting some LCT fact or comment to Alan. I can't wait for the day that I finally cruise with some of you. I've given up explaining this board to the "un-informed". I'm proud to belong to this cult. Let's Cruise Together!

What, exactly, is a cult? Well, a religious cult is one with a leader who often has visions. Well, ours has visions of mis-matched shoes, but, hey, no one said it had to be a great vision! A cult as in a cult movie or cult TV show is something with a small but loyal following--those in the following recognizing the value of the thing even when the wider culture does not. A cult as in a community of people with a shared interest or belief system. Yup, shared interest in good cruising and wholehearted belief in having a good time. Cult as in signing your worldly goods over to another. Well, I don't want to think about what chunk of my bank account is now in the possession of RSSC.
Yes, I think we probably are a cult.

Well, if it isn't a cult, it certainly is addictive. I find myself checking the Board numerous times a day. (Including a few times when I'm supposed to be working.) Shhhh.... that's a secret. :)
I think the warmth and kindness of the participants really makes this Board. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. Kudos to Ngaire and her team for giving us all this very special place.

I think Donna's suggested name "Let's Cruise Together" is perfect.

This post is too darn funny...
[QB]" What, exactly, is a cult? Well, a religious cult is one with a leader who often has visions. Well, ours has visions of mis-matched shoes, but, hey, no one said it had to be a great vision! " :app:
Hilarious!
And the other part of that quote I love:
"Cult as in signing your worldly goods over to another. Well, I don't want to think about what chunk of my bank account is now in the possession of RSSC. " and all the other lines too <img border="0" alt="[rofl]" title="" src="graemlins/rofl.gif" />

I was very fortunate to get to meet a couple of CC'ers that were on the Norwegian Dream this past 02/22/04 with us. What a blast we had. It made a real negative cruise ship a positive experience. NOW here we all are at LCT where everyone is much more up beat and exciting than CC and I feel very very forunate that I am going to get to meet over 50 new friends on the "MINT" cruise, and hopefully get to meet some more on the Diamond 02/15/05 "ADRIFT" cruise. Heck I am going to get to meet about 20 LCT'ers at the "WESTIN" party the night before the "MINT" WOW!
