I understand the voltage situation and I see that the islands use the French-style plug. Does the ship use the same style plug for the 220 outlets as they do at the hotels?

Yes. I don't remember if it was flat or indented.
If indented, you need to make sure it will fit. The ship also had 110 outlets on the dressing table. They supplied hairdryers that were appropriate to the outlets.

In the bathrooms of the PG there is a 110 outlet for shavers only. At the vanity (of the bedroom area) there is a 220 outlet on one side and a 110 outlet on the other side. We were able to plug in the hairdryer, our battery charger or my husband's charger for his Palm Pilot in the 110 outlet at the vanity with no problem. We did need our converter when we traveled to Manihi for our post cruise stay.

Remind me Kathy, there is a hairdryer in the room, right? Presumably it uses the 220? I never both carrying my own hair-dryer. I almost always let my hair air-dry, but it's nice to have one in the room for emergencies.

There are hair dryers in the room. They were 110. When my 110 outlet didn't work, they came up with a 220 hairdryer.
