The good news is that I know with the holidays almost upon us, I won't have long to wait until 1/13 and my Diamond cruise.
The bummer news is that because of said holidays, I'm pretty sure I will have to wait longer than usual to get my docs and start dancing. So, here's my question - how long before your cruise did you get your docs?

We are leaving on the Mariner on January 8 and did 'our dance' a week ago last Friday. Perhaps you had better put on your shoes. It should be this week.

Oh, the anticipation! Almost as good as having those docs in your hot little hands! Soon!

Bobbi: We, too, are leaving on January 8 and got our "docs" on Dec. 16th. Wait 'til you see them! What a shock. They have reduced the big 81/2 x 11" booklet of optional cruises, etc., to a tiny 9" x 4" booklet. Everything fits into the "leather" case with your plane tickets and cruise ticket.,etc. another cost saving measure, I expect.

I like the idea of a smaller booklet - easier to stow away and take with you tp shore during the cruise.

Finally!!!!! Seems the snowstorm in the midwest held up our docs for a while. Who cares? DHL just knocked on my door a few hours ago and I am in doc-dance-heaven. Also - a little FYI. My port/excursion booklet is the full 8 1/2 x 11.

Don't know about that Jean. Here I was expecting the smaller one...and nope - regular size! Maybe there was a paper shortage in early December? :hyper:

Margo - thanks - always enjoyed a crowd on the dance floor! Am getting quite excited. Trying to figure out when to get some packing in. Next weekend - no, New Year's Eve,etc. Weekend after that? No, daughter Emily decided to invite 30 friends (and their parents who we are friendly with as well) to her own 24th bday party at our house...(which means party Saturday, and having all out-of-town guests over for brunch on Sunday. Day before we leave? Uh, no. Biggest client having a cocktail party for 1200 of the city's top brokers to introduce his new condo project.
I think I may just open the suitcase - leave it open - and throw something in everytime I walk by!

I don't care for these little excursion booklets...I prefer the 8 1/2 x 11 size. The regular size ones also have lots of information about options to see and do on your own. BAIL came in the small booklets!! You can imagine how this is.... Each booklet covers 2 or 3 segments.

Marcie, are you choosing excursions in advance, or just doing it as you go along? Wondering whether I should book for my leg in advance of getting on the ship.

I totally agree, Marcie. I think the old books were great and a big bonus for Radisson, too. I saved all mine so I can look at some of those if we go to the same places.

hmmmm...I will be interested in comparing as well. Silversea has the smaller size, and I sort of liked it better because you could take it with you without it being awkward. We would get a taxi driver, and pick out the things from the excursion booklet we wanted to see the most from the several excursions available. I would assume the daily passages will be suggesting what to do on your own as they normally do in each port.
