Jamie said today that effective immediately, no more token will be given and the line will go to "Regent Rewards" shortly. He did not explain what RR were.
I assume that tokens are still OK on the Mariner at the moment - a guess - no facts.

Peggy, I have over 300 tokens. Can you let Jaimie know that I hope to exchange them for something this summer.

Florida Orange, have you exchange your tokens or have you still been saving up for the Ferrari?

Marc,

Wow!

I'll ask Jamie when I see him today . . . I'm sure there are others in your position - probably fewer tokens though . . .

I asked and was told that the tokens are history. No more on the Voyager, not sure when they stop on the Mariner or Navigator - a logical assumption would be the end of RoF.

And no, tokens are not transferable to Regent Rewards.

Does anyone have a photo of these tokens that I could use on my blog? I'm writing a post about the change to Regent Rewards. If you've got a picture I can use, you can email it to me at editor@luxurycruisebible.com

Thanks!

Peggy, thanks. I will be interested to hear how Regent Rewards will work. Hopefully they won't have any real monetary reward or competition at trivia and other games could become too cut throat. :D

Anyone in the market for 300 plastic chips with green Radisson or purple Regent logo? They are with our household goods so I won't be able to get to them until sometime late May.

Gee, at least they could have allowed for a redemption period! But then, what would you get--a lifetime supply of luggage tags?

Wendy, the selection for token redemption was always nice! Regent tote bags, travel alarm clocks, travel mugs, journals, etc.

Ah yes, I saw the alarm clock last time, nice. The luggage tags are nice too, actually. We have a tote bag, or rather a folding duffle, it's fairly rudimentary.

A suggestion: ask one of the people on the Mariner for more details - they should be able to get some specific information.

To be honest, everyone here is a bit busy!

About 10% of the passengers left today and the rest will leave tomorrow starting at 3am! The last will be off by 11:30am.

No, I've used large quantities to buy matching shorts & top, shirts, sweatshirts etc. in the gift shop. They use to let you redeem 1 token= $1. More recently though they changed it and you could only buy Regent logo clothing/items.

I still have about 90 tokens (could never catch Marc !) so they're worthless? I think they should have given those of us NOT on a WC some notice.

Best score ever was when Tom won something like 35 tokens for winning the "Jig" dance contest at St. Patrick's day party.

Marcie,

I remember that St. Patrick's day party (the day after the wedding on the 2005 WC and the day before we arrived in Cochin). Jamie was handing out tokens by the handful and I remember getting a dozen or more myself.

Sounds like these are worthless now. Had I known, I would have bought some t-shirts or things on SAMBA....Shame on Regent for not telling us to use or lose.

Marcie, we should send whatever we have (most of mine unfortunately in storage) to someone boarding Mariner between now and Anchorage. I would love to see John's face if someone came down with 500+ tokens and a long shopping list. :D

We will be boarding the Mariner in Osaka on May 7 and we depart for Japan on May 3. I'd be happy to cash in tokens if Regent would donate $1.00 per token to the crew fund. Regent's crews are the best!

We always donate to crew fund, very good cause.

I'm unclear just how long the tokens are good for if the redemption is ending with the Mariner World Cruise (Voyager's WC has already ended). We will be on Voyager May 21st but will they be any good?

At the end of the 2008 World Cruise we WERE told to use them or (possibly) lose them. Jamie made it very clear. The answer to Marcie's question is "probably no." John said that at the end of the WC the tokens were finished and will be replaced with RR's, Regent Rewards, pieces of laminated paper that can be used on that trip only and NOT saved.

I'm more than happy to donate mine to the Regent cruise fund if that is an option.

The Voyager WC is the only time Regent has allowed tokens to be used in the botique, ie some cash value. I don't know if the Mariner & the Oceania mindset would know how to accomplish that. We'll ask however.

I wonder if he means 'Count Florida'? He means that this person apparently was collecting tokens.
Not knowing exactly what she was talking about, but getting the drift, I replied:

I don't think the posting was for me; we don't have many tokens, maybe 1 or at most 2.

BUT, many people DO, and enjoy competing for them. What are the people running Regent thinking? Do they really want to antagonize their best repeat customers, or what? These sneaky rule and policy changes, like the one that no longer allows you to use the AMEX on-board credit to be applied to a future cruise on-board booking. Dinner menu choices in Compass Rose have been reduced, we don't think the food is as good as it was, and all these seemingly minor annoyances. Even with the 2-for-1 fares and free air, it still costs over $750. a day per person to cruise with Regent on any of the popular itineraries in Europe this year. And then they pull these nickel and dime tricks.
I just don't get it!
I should be more diligent in reading both I guess, but there is only so much time, even in retirement. Where did we get the time to do everything and still hold down full time jobs before we retired. We must have been really good and fantastically organized! EXCEPT, I know that was not a descriptor that fit me. I did have a secret weapon, though: Pat! Which probably explains it all.

[size=8]Too Many To List - 416 days & counting on Radisson/Regent, and 150+ days on 8 other lines, with one cruise booked next month on the Mariner, Miami to Honolulu 22 days

Count, I'm what you call "temporarily retired" because of the recession. I would love to be retired right now, but really should plod on for a few years if I can find employment. I do look forward to the pace of retirement, and yes it can get pretty busy, although it could never be as stressful as working, at least for me.
