We just got back from the PG. We met Mrs R and lots of other interesting folks and loved the PG once more(3rd time). It seems like Air Tahiti Nui is following the American Airlines toward less service and mediocre food. My recollection of previous trips was of a higher level of service, but this time the food was a step down. Going west they made one pass through the cabin, if you wanted more service you had to go back to the galley.
Our precruise at Tikehau was great. The food at Pearl Beach Tikehau is alot better than we had at Le Meridien on Bora Bora in '01 or '03. Soups were really good. Tikehau also had better snorkeling and was very quiet.
The PG was pretty much the way we remembered. Great food and great service. The Orion Band is OK but not Siglo. The Gaugines were great and did a great dance show that was more than we remembered from the previous cruises.
The weather was good even though it rained the morning of the Motu Mahana. The sun came out in the afternoon so the picnic turned out good.
This trip I did three scuba dives and had a great time. We took the Bora Bora Lagoon Escapade and had a good time. I recommend that anyone who books a the PG reserve their excusions right away as we were waitlisted on a couple of ours. We waited for a couple of weeks before we made our selections.
I just wanted to post a few observations while the experience is still fresh in my mind. If anyone has any questions, feel free.
