Could anyone advise me how long we should allow to stay in Copenhagen. I have no idea how large it is or what 'must see' attractions are there. We stay on board the first night and will probably get off the ship mid-morning the next day. At this stage think we'll stay two nights in a hotel. Will that be enough or too long? I have to book my airfare very soon, so any advice would be appreciated. Lee

We stayed one night and saw quite a bit. Two nights is sufficient. This is a small city. We got there in the am and did a full day. The next day we went to the ship and walked to the Little Mermaid and the Resistance Museum (which was wonderful) from the ship (about a 5-10 minute walk on the pier area next to the ship.
We enjoyed the castles in town and did that day 1. We didn't visit Tivoli.
We ate at the SAS Radisson and the restaurant was very good. It also offers panoramic views of the city.

Hi Lee,
Like Sedona I think if you stay 2 nights it's probably enough. We stayed 2 nights pre-cruise and went to Tivoli those 2 nights! Actually, my husband had already been in Tivoli in a prior trip but I dragged him back for the 2 nights. It's touristy but very different so I really enjoyed it. We had dinner there as well. We also took a canal boat ride and had lunch in Nyhavn. The day we were to board Voyager for our Baltic cruise it was pouring so we decided to go to into an art museum located near Tivoli, the NY Carlsberg. What a pleasent surprise it was! I wasn't expecting much but was very impressed with it.
If you have the time I would stay for 2 nights after you get off the ship. Probably the night that you get there and stay on board you'll be busy packing and enjoying your last night onboard and might not spend too much time off the ship ( at least that's what happened to us in our Norway cruise which ended in Copenhagen). So this way you can see everything at your leisure!

Two nights is good - I even think three wouid be fine. We really enjoyed Copenhagen.
Ngaire, Denise and I (plus husbands) arranged to have a driver pick us up at the ship and take us on a tour of some of the castles outside of Copenhagen for the first day. The countryside was beautiful and probably merited more time.
Brad and I spent another full day there seeing the sights and took a final boat tour the next morning before our afternoon flight and we still had not yet seen some of the museums plus Tivoli.

I have to agree with Leslie's comments. We really enjoyed touring the castles outside of Copenhagen. Lovely scenery along the way. The Marriott Concierge arranged a driver to pick us up after we disembarked. The driver was great. He arrived on time in a very large, clean van. In fact, the van was so large, we could have easily taken a few more passengers and luggage. At our request, he drove us to the hotel to check-in and leave our luggage. We were then free to do a full day's touring. It worked out very well.

Thanks to all - you've been a great help.
Denise, I realised after I posted this that I could have asked you direct - temporary dementia!!
Apart from having the occasional panic attack (which is completely normal for me planning any trip so far away), I'm really looking forward to cruising the Baltics (not that seeing the good Captain again hasn't come into the equation).
