I'm dancing and so excited!!

The Fed Ex truck arrived with all our World Cruise Documents (probably resembles the Library of Congress) in a brown box. The folder is different than all others....black leather/canvas combination and the luggage tags are black as well. This is going to take a L O N G time to wade through!

I found it interesting that for 108 days, we only received 2 of the Leather luggage tags but 10 of the cardboard Deck ID tags. Luckily, we have lots of the tan colored luggage tags from previous cruises but what if this was our first Radisson cruise? One could think they're only allowed 2 checked bags. I could be mistaken but I think we got 3 or 4 leather tags for MINT which was one week!

Anyway...I'm so excited!

Marcie, Congratulations! Wow, this must really be a big mailing. Did the docs answer those questions we were discussing in e-mail about the WC perks for excursions? Perhaps they weren't finalized before the brochures were printed?

Wes, you must be all dressed for dinner and waiting for Ida to primp like we ladies have to. But I don't even know where you are, except it is warm, I would think.

Yay Marcie! I printed out your itinerary yesterday, to tape to my desk.

We only got two of the leather ones for this last Mariner cruise, and last year's Voyager one brought really, really cheapo plastic ones.

Marcie, I'm so excited for you. A World Cruise...WOW. You are going to have so much fun. I think you should buy a special "journal" to record your travel experiences. Or, just print out all the posts you will be making to LCT!

How exciting. It all must seem very real now. I am like Pam. I have the itinerary next to my chair in the den so I can follow every day.

Hi Marcie,

I kept getting confused, not knowing if your World Cruise was 2005 or 2006. I guess you are counting the days. Are you the first LCTer to go on one of these? Can't wait for your reports to hear about all the wonderful things you will do or see.

Dancin' with ya!!!

Marcie,

I'm SOOOO jealous!! According to Ngaire's office, ours will be here Wednesday. Apparently I was too late Friday replying to confirm which address for them to go out Friday, so they went out today.

This will make it REALLY REALLY REAL!!

See you at the St. Regis!

Betty, I wasn't expecting mine till tomorrow so you never know!!

Claudia, we leave from Los Angeles which is great! The only flight we have is home from Ft. Lauderdale on April 23rd. It's especially nice because for the full world cruise passengers they pick up our luggage from our HOME and after the cruise deliver it back to our HOME!
The only thing we'll have to bring is an overnight type bag.

Very nice indeed. It'll be a spectacular experience for you and Tom. I'm surprised there are only 20 formal nights. I know from a ratio perspective 20 is about right, but for some reason I thought the WC would be more formal in general. Casual is better though. :)

Have I mentioned how envious of you and Tom? You sure I haven't? Because I think it everyday when I hear you talking about the World Cruise, Marcie. :D

Karen,

"I" could certainly use a 'shoe manager'!! I'm having a big problem getting the number below 20! And then of course there are HIS shoes, which take waaaayyyy more room than they deserve (they're SO boring!). I think that walk-in closet might fit a cot ...

Now interviewing for the the 'shoe manager' position .....

Betty

ps. best if also qualified as 'dresser' -- that would eliminate any and all THINKING on this voyage!

Oh, Marcie, this is so exciting!!! What other things do they throw in when you are World Cruisers? Are there any special guests on this cruise? Are there any free excursions or overnights?

I think you will have a lot of takers for the positions of shoe manager, etc.

Where is that application to apply? BTW, I have impeccible references, too! :D

Marcie is so diligent about writing reports while she is cruising - I was always saying yes yes I should go to the computer room and report to the 'board" but somehow rarely made it - Joanna

Marcie - How exciting! I (and others here I am sure!) am green with envy! I can't wait to hear all the details about all the perks you world cruisers get! I'd be beside myself with planning and details - and if I didn't have to schlep the luggage I'd up the shoe count to 15 pairs!

Marcie, congratulations. This must truly be a trip of a lifetime. I cannot imagine cruising for so long, 7 days being my current longest. You must be so excited!

For me, the biggest challenge would be fitting into the same formal outfits at the *end* of the trip! But I guess on such a long trip, you would have to get into a rhythm of moderation--a little less rich food, a little more exercise? It's certainly a long time to "party" and have no daily routine.

Have a great time.

Thanks for sharing our excitement! Yep, I'm sure Betty and I could find jobs for everyone from typist to wardrobe consultant to shoe coordinator to diet trainer!

I will try and post along the way but please don't expect such well written reports like we've had from Wes, Margo, Marc, Masaki, MarnaLou etc. Mine will read more like the old Dick and Jane books (most of you will not get that!)

Big set of Docs for a BIG cruise. 108 days - that's just about a 1/3 of a year!!!!! Will you remember us after all that time? :)

I'm so excited for you and Tom. You are going to have such a wonderful time. Since you'll be gone so long, with lots of time on your hands ( :D ) can you spend some of the time writing a book on packing and what to bring on a long trip like that? Hopefully, I'll need it . . . someday!

I thought your job was nurse, not shoe manager. Shoe manager falls under my duties as maid/wardrobe mistress. Although if Betty & Marcie decide to share, I will probably need help with the shoes. But Kimmi, as the Butleress, should really be in charge of the shoes. Isn't that a butleress's duty?
