I am able to get on at work but still not at home. As Ken "tried" to explain it to me the ISP (internet service providers)all have to adjust their sites to "point" to this address for this site. It takes a while for all the ISP's to make that change.

Then there are hiccups in the transfer itself. The avatars not all coming over we knew might be a problem and also expected other issues.

Also the access via luxurycruisetalk.com may take a little longer. Just come through my web for now.

We have an "expert" working on this and Ken and John are talking with her to try to fix some of these problems. Ken figured out how to fix the "not able to reply" problem but he would have to do each thread individually and could mess up the "expert" that is working on this. Too many cooks in the broth can be a problem.

We will continue to work on it and get it all figured out. Just wanted to keep you as informed as possible.

If members without Avatars or signatures could re post them it wold be a big help.

I uploaded my Spock to my own image storing site and changed the address in my profile and it's still not showing up. When I click on the "x" to view the propertys of spock, it is still linking to B and K.

Maybe I will try re-adding to B and K and see if that works.

It also appears that only posts made on messages started after the switch are showing up so it might be a good idea to hold off on replying to old messages for until we are back to normal.

Editing to say "HEY WAIT!!" Spock just disappeared along with my avitar!! :eek:

Editing again to say, I logged out, then came back in as a guest and your Spock and my avitar were visible.

I log in again and they disappear...

I'm logged in and can see Spock AND avitars AND signitures. Looks like it's working.

Looks like the "pre-upgrade" threads are still unavailable for new posts (with a few exceptions.) Should we just start a part two?

That might be a simple solution for now - but we certainly don't want to make things more complicated for our experts!

It still doesn't work for me!! When I log in Spock goes away with both my avatar and Margo's!! Karen, Ngaire's and John's are still visible...But I CAN see my photo with Arnold and Patrick. Curious!

Also, Margo's clock stops!

That "flood" message comes up now that was happening when we first opened and John fixed that before so we just need to do that same thing again.

Hey I made it back - FINALLY!

I still can't see the avitars. I can see Todds Vegas pics and Suzannes signiture pics but most of the avitars are missing as is my poor spock :(

Ngaire, I think people think we are still not open for business because everyone is still trying to get to the board with the old link and it's not working. For example, Olivia emailed me to ask when the board would be fixed. How do we direct everyone who has already bookmarked the board to the new link?

I think John said he could email everyone registered from the board control panel. I think he has gone out of town can you see how to do that Karen.

We keep hoping www.luxurycruisetalk.com will be up. Ken just emailed and said he thought it was up now. He is at the fire station so it makes it hard today. I cant access it though.

Best thing to do is to tell them to access it through my web for now. I wish I had realised this would be delayed so we could have told people to do that in the first place. Perhaps we can send out an email accordingly. I can email all my clients but once again I need Ken for that.

I am seeing all avatars except for Suzanne's and Margo's. Don't see the Star Trek thing on Karen's signature, but I see all of Todd's LV stuff. Hey, I'm just glad we are up and running again! Thank you Karen for telling me to just go to Ngaire's website to do so, even with your caveat.

I just went through the directory and where people had an email address and had posted quite a few posts I sent an email. Cant do everyone just way too many. Probably tomorrow Ken will get the regular address working. Since so few know we are up and running albeit with a few "kinks" I am surprised we have 27 guests on right now. They must have come from the web site directly.

OK, I am done watching Survivor and ready to see if we can do a mass email to all the members. :)

I think I got an email off to all the members and I fixed Spock. If your avitar is not working, please send me what you would like to use and I will redo it.
