Wow, you fall off a ship, get hypothermia and then get tossed into the hoosegow :)

I am glad this one had a happy ending and that he was rescued.

It doesn't say if it was a passenger or crew. The Harmony had a crew member that jumped off in the middle of the Pacfic last year who they never found.

Another plus for Radisson? Happier cruises?

The LA Times said he got off the ship and took a cab home. Sounds kinda funny to me. At least he got resuced (unless he didn't want to be rescued). And what was he doing on Deck 12 at 6 AM? They said a kitchen worker saw him fall though a kitchen window? There aren;t any windows in the Kitchen on the Mariner, that I recall.
Theres more to this story, but, I don't think we will hear about it.

Does this sound familiar, except that at least one, if not more people "fell overboard" but were not found. Am I having a "blonde moment" or does anybody else remember man overboard stories?

How can you "accidentally fall" from the deck of a cruise ship????

Does sound odd, that's for sure. Lucky for him that he was spotted and rescued.

Gee I thought that only happened on Carnival ships. Part of their early disembarkation program! :D

I think we've got an epidemic here. It looks like we all better be nice to our cruising companions - just in case :D :D

Robert - like your new screen picture.

I read on CC that the person apparently took off their shoes before jumping. Seems to me that a person would not take off ones shoes prior to "accidentally" falling in.

Thanks, Cyndi - showing off my new specs...

OK, I have to ask. The whole shoe thing has me baffled. I agree, a person would not take off their shoes prior to "accidentally" falling in. However, if he jumped and was hell bent on commiting suicide, why bother taking off your shoes?

I still think he was pushed! :bv:

What a wierd story!! I agree, why would someone intent on committing suicide take their shoes off?? Ditto if the guy was pushed off....if someone was trying to get rid of you that way, they'd hardly stop to have you remove your shoes, LOL. Maybe it was someone trying to evade police or security and was hoping to swim to shore? Strange....

There was a homicide case here in L.A. County a few years back wherein a woman fell to her death from a balcony at a Sheraton Hotel. The L.A. County Homicide detective team working the case were friends of mine. It took them over a year to solve the case...Part of what they did was drop dummies, over and over from that balcony, studying the physics of the fall...anyway, the perp eventually confessed that he'd pushed her...seems he was having an affair with her and she'd have wrecked his marriage. Don't know why I thought of that story, but I guess falling from a high deck on a cruise ship reminded me, LOL. Liz

I followed that one in the news. It was interesting. Poor girl didn't deserve that.
