Click on our Ofoto/Kodak group album site.

Log in using cruise@yahoo.com as your username and cc as the password. You needn't worry about the size of the photos, when you upload them, the website will auto-resize them for you.

Near the top of the page, in the center of the screen, choose the "upload photos" tab as seen in the picture below:

[Linked Image]

You will now see the Create an Album page. Name your album and then choose "continue" as seen in the photo below:

[Linked Image]

Click the "add pictures" button

[Linked Image]

A screen will pop up with your computer's directory on it. Locate where your pictures are being stored. Mine are stored in my Kodak file directory, which is located in "my pictures" in my Documents file.

While holding down the control key on your keyboard, point to each picture in your directory that you with your mouse and click on all the pictures you want to upload. As you choose a picture to include, it will become highlighted as in the picture below:

Now your pictures will start uploading to the site. Be aware, it may take an hour or two to upload several hundred, depending on the speed of your internet. When the photos have finished uploading, you can choose the "options" button to add titles to them.

Karen...if he's already uploaded to Picasa I think he can give us a share link????

Nevile...you'll have to let us know.

Larry on the world cruise is posting his photos there and has a link directly to his pics.

Margo, I thought Neville meant that he adjusted his pictures with Picasa. Oh gosh, did I give him the wrong directions?

Editing to add, I had the Picasa photo tool but not the Picasa picture album service so I intalled it. And yes, if he has already uploaded his pix there, all we would need is a link from you, Neville.

What is "a link" ? (apart from being part of a chain.) Just tell me what to do ? First I go to the album on Picassa, right ?

a link is something you click on. for example if i want people to go see this thread, i'd put this link in my message.

http://www.luxurycruisetalk.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=003948

How do you do that? Up above on Your computer is a window that says Address next to it. Highlight everything in the address window and then go to Edit>Copy. Click on the Edit once. To post your link, start a post. Again go to Edit above and this time click the word that says Paste. Your link should then appear in your thread.

Neville, go to Picasa where your pictures are stored and open up the album.

Look at the web address at the top of the page and using your mouse, click on it. It should now be highlighted.

Now, right click on the address, which means to click the button on the right side of your mouse that you never normally use, while you are pointing at the address. A window will open up that looks like the one below. You will scroll down and choose the "cut" or the "copy" option.

[Linked Image]

Now come back to the board and reply to a message or start a new post. Right click again, right where you would go to type your post. Just right click on the reply area, you can click anywhere you want. Now scroll down and choose "paste" and the link to your pictures will be in your reply now.

Karen,

Your instructions along with graphics always make things a snap for me to understand and put into motion! Thanks. This is really helpful information!

Could these simple instructions be placed somewhere on LCT for easy access in the future - like when I run into a snag in transferring pics into an album to share?

Sure Denise, I will move this post over to the FAQ or board news forum when Neville is finished with them.

Great idea - your step by step with arrows make it very easy but sure would be handy to be able to go back and "brush" up - thanks!!!

Thanks for putting your great instructions in the FAQ area of the board, Karen. That makes for very easy reference.

Karen,

You do a great job with the screen captures. I see you save them in JPG and then upload them to Photobucket but how do you put the red arrows on them? What software are you using to do that?

Maria I have never done it either - have to depend on Tony who is always cranky when I ask him to download pixs - mine not his - so thank you Karen for easy steps -

Kathy, I use Paint to make the arrows since thats where I put the screen capture to crop it and save it as a .jpg

Maria, Picasa is a Google-sponsered picture editing software and now you can also upload your pictures like we do to the Kodak site.

Thanks, Karen. I use the screen captures for training clients but usually put them in Word. That's a great way to do it since I don't have Photoshop and Wacom tablet in the office.

Something happened and the album was deleted. I will now make another CD from my memory card and start again sometime this week.
Thank you all for the help. When I am ready I will go to the Q & A section.

Karen,

Not to brag, but it's going to be about 80 here today. Our spare bedroom is free. You are welcome here. How soon can you get here? Of course, by then we'll have a storm brewing. Rain for the weekend.

I messaged to the Picasa club for help. I follow the 8 steps to get the CD into the computer. My 237 shots are duplicated and about 1200 are entered, yet it works perfectly at the Walgreen's machine. I will post as soon as I get them in.
Shots of the Senator and Cousteau are fun to see.

Karen, don't get mad. I couldn't find the "address" part, but I found a thingie to send mail. So I sent the whole lot to you knowing that with your talent you would put them on the board.
The Senator is Bob Graham Ret.

Neville, I never got anything from you. The address part is the thing in the very top box on your page. Look up to the top of this page, do you see the white box that says "address"
That is what you need to cut and paste here so we can see the pictures.

If you want, you can email me and tell me your password and user name for the Picasa site and I can log in as you and link us to the pictures.

PS
I would never get mad!
