Does anyone have experience with transfer from hotel to airport in Venice? We are staying overnight at Hotel Bauer thru Regent program with airport transfer included. Our flight leaves at 7:30am and I'm wondering how early to schedule for this departure time. Is the transfer by private water taxi or some other means? Thanks for any info you can give me.

Transfers are easy from The Bauer. We stayed there a couple of years ago after a Windstar cruise and took a 7:30 AM flight from Venice to Rome before connecting home.

Just notify the hotel conscierge the day before your departure, and he will arrange to have a water taxi pick you up at the hotel. You'll also get a wake-up call and breakfast delivered to your room! Awesome service!

Cruises since 2000:
Mariner 6/01 Alaska
Wind Surf 2/02 Bahamas
Mariner 1/03 Panama Canal
Voyager 9/03 Baltic
Mariner 1/05 Lima to Buenos Aires
Wind Surf 6/05 Rome to Venice
Mariner 11/07 Sydney to Aukland
Voyager 6/08 Norway
Navigator 3/10 Caribbean

I don't often use the Regent programs, but when I have, they tell you when your transfer is going to pick you up from the hotel.

Be aware that you have to get your bags from the dock at the airport to the terminal. There are porters who will transfer it but it is expensive. If you don't have much luggage it is doable by yourself. I would say 1/4 of a mile. Maybe less.

Regentcruiser, If you are using the Regent air/hotel package, they will take care of your luggage to the hotel from the ship and as Crystal said, tell you when to be ready for the transfer to the airport in the morning.

Thanks everyone for the helpful info. This is one more question I can cross off my list.
