We got an invitation to the christening, but can't go because we'll be on the World Cruise.

Regent was the only line that did a guest shakedown cruise that I was aware of and they did not do it on the Explorer so they wont do it on the Splendor. Nice while it lasted but things always change.
They will probably invite a few Diamond guests to the Christening and possibly also to the 4 day post cruise immediately following the Christening that Ken and I will be on. But this is primarily for Travel Agents and Travel Writers, very few guests. Not like they did years ago on the older ships.

Mary and I are on a Splendor "shakedown" cruise but it is called the "Inaugural" TA cruise and we pay for the "fun" and the stories to be told. Hope it's not too much "fun". Am raring to go. I'd be packing if Mary would let me; something about needing the room for holiday guests!

Diamond & Commodore guests are automatically invited to new ship christenings. Those of us on the 2020 World Cruise will be given a 3 day per diem credit for any future cruise on the Splendor.
