Looking for a recommendation for a nice but not over the top hotel for 4 days in April. It’s for our 25th anniversary so something romantic is a plus. It’s part of a bigger trip so I’d like to keep this part not super-expensive

Lauri. A few months ago I asked for a recommendation for a Rome hotel on LCT and ended up booking Hotel Albergo Del Senato. I did a lot of research and this one seemed perfect. Location, reviews, not too expensive and lots of character. I haven’t stayed here as the booking was for family next year. Certainly worth a look.

Albergo del Senato is a great little place. It is right on the same piazza as the Pantheon and has a really nice roof top bar. We love it there but it is pretty small and very popular so I would suggest you book as soon as you know your dates.
our other fave hotel in Rome is the Intercontinental at the Spanish Steps. Very nice , bigger than the Senato and usually way more expensive. The location is fantastic at the top of the Steps, next door to the Hassler.
