2nd time on the Riveria. Had a Oceania suite that is fabulous. 2 full bathrooms, lots of space, large deck and being on deck 12 was great for the pool. I personally think this is a great deal for us. We don't want the excursions in the Caribbean which are way over priced. Get a cab and work a deal. Jim doesn't drink and I want 1 to 2 glasses of wine a day. The room came with 6 bottles of alcohol and you get get it any way you want. All wine, hard liquor, combination. You can take the bottles of wine from your room that they have given you to dinner and they will store the partials.

The staff were delightful and wanting to please. The best surprise was DIDI was on board who many of you will remember from Regent. Funny we didn't cross paths until near the end. Our butler was a pro and our cabin stewardess learned our habits quickly.

Entertainment was ok with a few better than average. The JAR were a cut above with very good voices. We had a comedian who was funny and did two shows.

The food was still very good. We ate in GDR several times and I thought it was comparable to Regent. They had the fleet chef on board and were reworking the menu in Red Gingar and others.

We took a cooking class and it is really fun and we always learn something. They make is so easy for you and the classroom is great.

Would we do it again? Yes. We are doing Santiago to Sydney next year. Many sea days which is what they are good at. Will get us out of the coldest months here. Have all ready booked a 2 day semi-private tour on Easter Island so will not have to deal with Oceania tours.

So glad to hear you enjoyed the Riviera. We board a week from today with the kids and grands. This will be our 4th cruise on the Riviera we just love it. It will be the first for our grandchildren.

Were the specialty restaurants still great, we love Jaques.
I have read on another board that it is almost impossible to get additional reservations for the specialty rest. even though we have two Vista suites and a few reg cabins.
Any input would be very appreciated.

Get your butler on it right away. We boarded at 11 and were able to get in our room. You are entitled to 2 res. in each rest. as a Vista person. We were able to get one every night and included our traveling companion who were in reg room. Now our butler said he did it right away and the girl was new so he was able to fudge the rules. We didn't use all our reservations and did call and cancel so others could use them. Jacques was great. Toscano was good with service one night spot on (Lara) was our waitress and the other was slow and uneven. Polo is a lovely room but the lobster was tough. We never ate in Terrace, just don't like the set up. We ate breakfast in GDR or Waves which will cook eggs to order. It was quite before 9 and outdoors. Still addicted to surf and turf at lunch.

Thank you so much, I'll get the butler on it right away. We plan on boarding at 11, we live here in Miami so its real for us.
This is our 4th trip on the Riviera and we have never eaten in the GDR for dinner. We plan on taking the little ones to the Grill a few evenings and letting their parents go to the restaurants so I will be right on the extra reservations.

Good to hear about your cruise, Pam. Tell Jim hi!

I agree about the lobster in Polo. We thought it was tough as was a steak one night. In fact, we had such an unsatisfactory dining experience there that they gave us another night "to try to do better". The second night was better, but it is still my least favorite of the specialty restaurants.

BTW, my former office manager just moved to your city.
