I am trying to figure out how to hold mail for longer than 30 days. Even the "premium" service from USPS requires mail to be forwarded to another domestic address; that won't work. For those of you that don't have family or friends handling mail, how did you get past the USPS 30 day limit? You can have only one hold mail authorization online at a time; were you able to edit the request? Or, did you find some other way that worked?
thanks for all ideas,
Marc

Marc, If you can get someone to put the delivered mail inside your house for you, you can put it back on hold the next day. We are on our 3rd hold that way on our current trip. Jim

Marc,
We needed a mail hold of 57 days for our upcoming cruise and stay in New Zealand. Joan spoke to the manager of our local post office who got permission from his supervisor for the longer mail hold. You also might want to speak to your mail carrier. Good luck.

MY neighbor checks my mailbox everyday and puts it in my house, unfortunately he won't pay my bills!

Marc, we fill out two separate forms manually (yellow forms you can get at the post office) and give them to our mailman. We've never had a problem doing it that way. Actually, you can probably get by with just one form if it's just a little over 30 days. For one really long trip, I had to go to the post office and get permission from the supervisor, but that was no problem either. In other words, go "old school".
