Looking for a new visa card to get cash/points. Received mailing from Capital One for Quicksilver card. No annual fee; 1.5% cash back on all purchase, and $100 back after spending only $500 in three months. This seems like free $100. Is this a good deal? Anyone have this card and have had problems? Any better deals out there now?
thanks,
Marc

Whatever card you get, get one with a chip in it for use overseas.

I agree with Jim that it is becoming more important all the time to have the chip in your card when traveling outside the USA.

Marc - if you are looking for a cash back type card, several of the points/miles bloggers having been writing up the Barclaycard Arrival card lately. It earns 2 points per $ spent, then you can use the points toward the cost of travel, with a 10% rebate on points when you redeem them. I think the signup bonus is worth $440 (but higher than $500 initial spend) and there is an annual fee which is waived the first year. I don't know any more about it but have seen it mentioned a lot recently.
