Not the polars, but they will more than do. Aren't they just so wonderful?

So fascinating! They are all waiting so patiently, but so far I haven't seen anyone catch a salmon. I am sure their patience will pay off eventually

Finally saw one catch his dinner! Very cool!

I love watching this....such patience! Unfortunately, from what I've seen so far, most of these guys are going to go to bed hungry:(

For all you bear lovers, or just plain animal lovers....I just finished reading Emory's Gift. I really loved it - by W. Bruce Cameron who wrote A Dog's Purpose and A Dog's Journey. It's about a Grizzly and like his other books - a little fact, a little fiction and quite a bit of imagination!

These are the most patient bears I've ever seen. Guess they don't have to be any place else any time soon!

haha, Betty I sat there today, watching and watching, and after a couple of visits, finally saw my first "catch" Bear took that fish and immediately went off the screen! Not like a "kill" in Africa when the whole pride shows up to share!

The salmon seem scarce today. Last night there were hundreds of salmon going up to and over the falls and the bears were having a field day.

Besides the bear cam Pam and I linked to, there are three other bear cams available just below the large screen. In particular, the cam called "Bear Watch" shows a wide angle view of the main bear cam so you can see where the bears go when they catch a salmon.

Also, just below the pictorial links to the various cams, there is a link to a "Bear Blog" and a link to a pdf file called "Profiles of the Brown Bears of Brooks River." (Profiles) It gives a good overview and describes many of the bears you see on the bear cams. (It's a 50 page document so it might take a while to load.)

Thanks, Dave! I wouldn't have checked those additional cameras.

Oh my! The 2 cubs are so cute! Mom is definitely keeping an eye on them!

This is DEFINITELY on my list of places I must do in person someday. Have been to Alaska 3 times, but never made it here. It's definitely on the bucket list!

Oh my! The Cubs just jumped off the wall into the water and there were 3 of them! Mom went after them right away and got them back onto land! Too cool!
