That is indeed sad news a whether you liked his show or not he had incredible talent. Personally I always liked his show and got to know him reasonably well over the years. When you are just talking to him as a "person" he was quite different.

I knew him very well from way back in the "Diamond" days. He apparently was airlifted off a ship into intensive care and passed away on Tuesday. Going to miss "The Mad Welshman"! My thoughts are with his lovely wife Lorraine.

This is such sad news. Many wonderful memories of a very nice, talented man who was everyone's friend. Feeling so bad for Lorraine! Any idea what he died from?

So sorry to hear this! I personally bought he was very funny, and was also a very nice person if you talked to him one on one.

SWANSEA comedian Kenny Smiles has died following a suspected heart attack.
The 67-year-old entertainer, who was from Brynhyfryd, had suffered from heart problems and passed away at the Heath Hospital in Cardiff earlier this week.
Highlights of a successful career included appearing on television on The Comedians as well as summer seasons at Blackpool with Russ Abbott.
He had been working up until six weeks ago on cruise ships.
Swansea Sound presenter Kevin Johns, who knew Mr Smiles through charity work, said: “I’m devastated, he was a very successful performer and a lovely man.”

He entertained on a few of our RSSC cruises. Enjoyed his humor very much. I think I have a CD of his schtick. Thank you for the update.

strange as it sounds, I never attended any of his shows, but, not knowing who he was, I spent a lot of time over many cruises, talking with him in Smoking lounge, and found him to be a kind and entertaining and fun guy to be around. Will miss him.
