While we were on TAJ MAHAL, Polly Kosko was using a Frogg Togg Chilly Pad around her neck to keep her cool. Many of us were intrigued as we had not seen them before. You just wet them with water and as they evaporate they are very cool to the touch. It doesn't even matter whether the water is cool or warm. When they are dry, they are very stiff. They really work well.

Polly was kind enough to give me hers when we disembarked in Mumbai, and she and George (and Meredith and Bo Chase headed home). I used it all the time during the post-cruise to the Taj Mahal.

Anyway, I highly recommend them for anyone who is going on this type of trip. I think that Polly told me her nephew used them for Little League, and I now know that golfers use them. I think Polly said that she bought hers at Bed Bath and Beyond. When I looked on line, I noticed a good price at Sierra Trading Post (STP), though I didn't analyze total costs with shipping across various sources. The pads generally run between $10 and 15. Here's a link to the ad for the pads at STP: Frogg Toggs Chilly Pad.

Interesting concept. Thanks Eugene. They're selling them on Amazon Prime (free shipping, no tax) for $10.99. I'm going to give it a try.

I think I'll pick one up for my SE Asia trip this fall. Good to hear that they really work. I've seen them locally but wasn't sure if it was worth picking up. It may even come in handy I during Houston summer.
