http://www.aa.com/arriving/ponCitSer-04.html the merger was officially announced this morning. As expected, the combined airline will retain the American name, remain in oneWorld, with CEO Doug Parker (of USAirways). So not much unexpected.

For now, USAirways miles can still be used for Star Alliance awards but that should end before the close of 2013 (no date has been announced).

AA website is such a delight to use, I hope the merger doesnt destroy that.. Deltas website was a disaster after there merger.. We shall see I guess..

Agree about the website issue. AA is easy to use and doesn't freeze up. Delta's is totally frustrating and gives you crazy flight options.
