Excited about the new amenities on Scenic beginning 2013. We have been thinking of doing a river cruise, looking at AMA and Scenic, but all inclusive alcohol and ability to have room service was REALLY important for us. Looks like we will be sailing with Scenic!

Scenic 'Space Ships' - yours to enjoy

Regardless of the level of accommodation, all our guests enjoy the full
amenities our 'Space Ships'. Superb cuisine, single sitting dining, spacious
lounge and bar, expansive outdoor viewing areas and a friendly, attentive crew.

*New in 2013 - While lunch and dinner are always accompanied by tea and
coffee, beer, soft drinks and a selection of fine wines, in 2013, unlimited
complimentary beverages are available onboard. Whether you choose a
Mimosa at breakfast or a drink before dinner there is no charge. **Excluding
premium spirits, French champagne and selected wines.

Complimentary in-Suite mini-bars are replenished daily, as well as a large
bottle of still and sparkling mineral water, daily.

Private butler service

Enjoy Europe in style. *New in 2013 All guests in all cabins will enjoy our
exclusive butler service. Whatever your cabin grade, your butler is available to
provide complimentary refreshments at your leisure. Your butler will also
provide a valet service that includes organising theatre tickets, limousines,
making on-shore arrangements or salon appointments. There is even a
shoeshine service provided. It's these delightful personal touches and added
services that make a European river cruise on board a Scenic 'Space-Ship' so
special.

Danube Deck guests enjoy the following additional in-suite inclusions:

Breakfast delivered to their suite
Complimentary laundry service (two articles pressed per day)

Junior Suite guests enjoy all of the extra in-suite inclusions of the Danube Deck plus:

Seasonal fruit
Pre-dinner canapes
Petit fours

Royal Suite guest enjoy all of the extra in-suite inclusions of the Danube Deck and Junior Suite plus:

$300 per cabin onboard credit voucher
Complimentary bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne on arrival
All premium beverages included in mini-bar
Room service is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner so you can dine in private any time you wish
Your choice of daily newspaper
Unlimited laundry services
Private transfers (conditions apply)

You will be welcomed onboard with a welcome glass of champagne before being shown to your cabin. There, your butler will explain all your amenities and assist wherever needed.

For those accommodated on Rhine Deck or above, your butler can also provide other services. Fancy a cocktail on your balcony with friends? Or early morning tea or coffee in your room? Simply ask your butler to assist in the arrangements.

That sounds good Cindy...I love the fantastic itinerary from Zurich to Vienna. We've been to most of those towns and one just better than the next and definitely worth revisiting . Maybe something to consider....

Marcie - Unless I am reading the itinerary wrongly, that tour seems to be a land tour by bus, rather than a river cruise. Lots of good stops but tied together with lots of bus (aka, "coach") time. Am I reading it incorrectly?

I agree Freddie - that itinerary appears to be a land tour (which Scenic does do) not one of the River Cruises at which we are looking. We will proabably do the cruise on the Scenic Crystal or Scenic Jewel, Budapest to Amsterdam.

You're right Freddie, I was hoping it would be a combination of both river and land but it is all land so that really turned us off. We've done most of these towns before via train, visiting Swiss friends or short term vacation rentals. We are so NOT bus tour people !

I think you're right, you don't go on a river cruise to not see much of the river!

Never a failure, but always a lesson.
