Marc, I don't know the answer to that question, do you remember how you knew on the old board? I think I just remember which posts I post in so I never paid attention to that on the old board?

I think the icon on left indicated if you had posted to that thread. I know that is how it is on FlyerTalk. On CruiseMates there is a check mark by a thread that you have posted on. I forget what cruise critic uses.

Marc, Cruise Critic uses a check to denote that you've written to a particular thread. Nice feature.

Red x are gone. Can I ask for another small modification; can we get more topics per page and more responses per page. Especially active topics or active forums; there could be new posts over a page back when you don't check in that frequently. I wouldn't recommend this being changed on the "default forum level" as google and search engines like "lots" of pages, I'd do 10-15 items maximum per page just for search engine exposure... If Ken is interested at some point I have some mod's that will increase search engine activity which will generate more incoming links... Okay, I apparently had to be on a Windows computer to use those preferences. I managed, but it was a pain. Your IT guy may need to check on Mac ability. I don't have a mac available here right now, but I have tested the UBB with MacOSX with no problems before... Karen, how can I tell which threads I have posted to? Click your name on one of your posts, choose "view posts".

For those of you on Internet Explorer who are having an hard time staying logged in, can you please email me this info:
Operating system (like Windows 7 or Windows Vista, etc) Brower info (like Version 7.0.6002.0) You can find that info by clicking the help button on the tool bar on your Internet Explorer browser window and then scroll down to "about Internet Explorer"

James, we are not worried about search engine exposure, we don't advertise or anything like that. Well, it's primarily bookmarked links, and I'd really like to hear it from Ken to disable it since he paid me to put it on there... All bookmarked links to threads, and items already in search engines will no longer work; and that's assuming I can even get Perl to play nice nice with a modified redirector...

Another good item to list is if you've tried using another browser (Firefox, Chrome, Opera) and weather the issue still persists. I don't "make" the software, I just provide some technical support for it, I'm not going to be able to fix said cookie issue, but I can certainly help build some information for a bug request to be filed with the vendor.

If anyone notices someone missing who is usually here, it might be a good idea to let them know the site is back up. If they are using their old bookmark to access LCT, they will continue to get the white screen. They need to type in a fresh www.luxurycruisetalk.com and bookmark anew!

Karen, I can't get LCT using Internet Explorer, no matter what I do. I've deleted all the bookmarks and it still doesn't work when I type in the address (i.e.--I get an error message). I have to switch over to Firefox to get to LCT which is OK, just would like to figure out what the probelm is with IE.

I am on several UBB chat boards and this is the only one where I encountered that glitch. The message said something like "it appears this request was made through the wrong forum" or something like that. I got on my husband's Windows computer and fixed it.

Peggy & Karen, I think the problem Peggy's having is that the pointer to the old LCT website is in Internet Explorer's browser cache. So Internet Explorer keeps trying to go to the old website which no longer works. The solution that worked for me was to clear the cache. Here's some instructions I found for clearing the cache. It contains instructions for a number of browsers. Clearing the browser cache . Hope this helps.

OK, after messing with it for some time, I finally figured out how to clear my browser cache on my version of Internet Explorer. Did that, but still can't get LCT. But all is not lost because I can get it using Firefox. I'll just stick with Firefox and consider this another one of those "hmm" situations --I encounter a lot of those these days .

We use explorer and we have been able to get on with no problems even on the river boats with bad internet. Do you type in CLEAN. www.luxurycruisetalk.comThat should take you to the new address directly but may still be going to the old address I think computers cache differently. I hope soon all these issues will be gone.

Still having trouble staying logged in. Right now I got in by clicking on Private Message to Karen. Of course, it said I wasn't logged in so I did on that screen and now it lets me post.
Once I exit (without logging off) I can't stay signed in.
I'm on Windows Vista Internet Explorer Version 9.0.8112.16241
I also can't get to LCT on our iPad. I type in a new address and nothing happens. I'll play around some more to see what else I can find to clear the history for the safari browser.

Remember me on each visit. Jan you do need to click on this box shown above when you log in or it will not automatically log you in on your next visit. You may have tried this but just incase you have not. When you cannot get in look at the email address. If it says anything other than what I am showing below your browswer is going to the OLD address. I cant remember what it said now but it was much longer and did not have the word FORUM in the title. www.luxurycruisetalk.com/forum

Ngaire, these people who can't stay signed in are having this happen while they are at LCT. They sign in, click on a post and then they are logged out.

Ken has done a lot of research this afternoon on the Explorer LCT problem. It appears this is an issue with this software not working correctly if the Explorer Browser has certain settings. He is going to follow up to see if there is something we can do to lessen the problem and try to find out what settings are involved so those with this issue know what to do. We use explorer on all our computers in the office, our laptops and home computers and have no issues. So I guess our settings work okay with the message board software.
I love and hate technology at the same time. Anytime you change something it always affects something else and causes problems.
Ken read that if you Log in and DO NOT tick the "remember me" box although it is not logical this actually worked for some people. They stayed logged in anyway and were able to reply to posts.
If you are having problems with LCT and use explorer please email Karen or Ngaire so we know how many of you are affected. .

Ngaire, My problem is not that it doesn't keep me logged in for the next session even though I have the REmember Me box checked.
My problem is that when I login, it shows me logged in. Then I click to a forum or a specific message and I'm not logged in. So I can't post in the normal fashion.
The only way it is working for me is
Click on a name (in this case yours)and get the message you can't view a profile unless logged in. On that screen there is a login dialog. I use that one and then it logs me in and I can move around the various forums and messages and post just fine. If I leave LCT, I am logged out. That doesn't bother so much as not being able to login on the first screen and stay logged in. But...I do have a work around for now.
The other problem is that I can't even get LCT to load on either my iPhone or iPad. Not fatal, but a bit annoying since I'm about to leave tomorrow for London and two weeks pre-Shamrock with only my iPhone. But there are more important problems in the world!

Now here is the newest twist. I just went to my iPad and cleared Internet history. LCT loaded great AND I'm still logged in from my PC connection of a few minutes ago. Go figure. I'm going to go clear history on my iPhone and hope that works there!!!

On my iPad, it is working fine, keeping me logged in,no problems. However on my regular computer, I do not stay logged in, even when clicking the remember me box, even when I haven't gone anywhere but on the LCT site. Weird.

Rachel: Try relogging in and NOT ticking the Remember me Box leave that blank. Not logical but that seems to work for some and the "remember me box' causes the "kick off". Let us know if that helps.
I think we all have certain issues with our computers due to settings etc and once we figure this all out and make the necessary adjustments(if we can figure them out) we may be okay.
Seems most computers are able to use the board with no problems. If we make changes trying to fix these issues it could mess something else up and our problems could get worse.
We really need to know how many are having issues.

Have just been exploring the new site and discovered 30 private messages, most of which had previously been deleted on the old board. So does that mean they're never permanently deleted?

Have just been exploring the new site and discovered 30 private messages, most of which had previously been deleted on the old board. So does that mean they're never permanently deleted? It's only truly deleted when both sides of the conversation delete it. In Threads you can have more than 2 private message participants, so that rule multiplies to however many people are involved.

Kathy, I am not sure but I think we have always used the scrolling wheels? I don't remember any yellow new post indicators? I like the active posts page, I find it easy to read through all the new posts that way.

Karen, we used to have something along the line of "light bulbs" that "lit up" when there was a new post. The scrolling wheels are new to this new forum.
