Lars and I were enjoying a cocktail in the lounge of our AMA ship, Amacerto this evening....when we look up and who should we spy but Ken and Ngaire touring the ship with Kristin, one of the owners!!! What a great surprise for all of us!
I will try to share the photo later and I know Ken has one as well...but today Ngaire is in Linz, Austria and seeing her and Ken was a wonderful surprise for us!

I was about to post about this when I saw this thread. I am not on face book so I cannot open the link I guess but Ken will post a picture directly here soon. It was so amazing to hear NGAIRE? There were only TWO people on the ship as the others were off on tour and it woud be Margo and Lars. Amazing. We had a lovely visit and they let me take a picture of their cabin.
The AMA ship with the larger cabin and the REAL balcony is a VAST improvement over the other ships. So nice and light and they have added a long cabin length granite top cabinet as well that gives you lots of counter space. I looked at their menu for that night and it was RACK OF LAMB. I wish I could have stayed. They have a small dining room at the back as an alternative experience and you can see the chef cooking the kitchen is open glass. Quite neat,
All these river cruises are sold out it is amazing. VERY COLD right now, rainy and miserable weather. Our weather in Barcelona and Venice was so warm and the hotel manager told me a few weeks ago it was SO HOT - in the 90's. Weather who knows these days!
Just in a busy mode right now trying to see as much as we can in the time we have. Our "schedule" is blown and is now even more complicated and more trains. We are trying to add in two more AMA ships to our inspection schedule. Both of us are working on train schedules to get where we need to be and stops inbetween as well. We saw one of the new Viking ships today and it is MUCH improved over the old Viking ships.
Uniworld is very nice they had Dover Sole last night - yummy had it three times in the last four nights no such thing as too much Dover Sole. They also have a dining area at the back that doubles as a second lounge during the day with a small library with computers. That is where I am now. The "butlers" wear neat "british looking uniforms" complete with a cravat and a pearl stub. I will get a picture before we leave. We are in a suite it has so much room and storage, still no bathtub but a very livable cabin for sure.
River boats are getting better all the time. We will be seeing the new Marie Antoinette in two days time and these are larger cabins. As I understand it she cannot do all the rivers as she wont fit in the all the locks. A compromise - better cabins - less itineraries.
Need to diet when I get back the food is "creeping up" and not long until SHAMROCK either to get myself back on track.
