Editing my dear Ralph's post to add that the roll call for the Captains cruise is in the thread but several posts down.
Hi Pat. This might be a better Board to chat. Karen is a lot more friendly than the other folks. You will like the other two couples that are joining Carol and I they are fun people.
Karen, you can edit my posts any time. When doing please also fix my spelling errors.

Yes we sure are ROARing and then POLARBEARing (oh thats 2009 as well). Now all I will need is a cruise to somewhere HOT in Feb or Mar of 2009. can't stand these long cold winters here. Maybe Ngaire can host a South America/Carribean one in that time slot. Will have to research it a bit more. Now Betty, I firmly believe that you put off the kitchen for another year and sign up for CAPTAINS,after all YOU named it and it's only right you be on it.Sign on now lol

But Pat, I've seen Norway. Too many other places to go. Asia and South America are calling me as well as 3 Regent itineraries in Europe that I still must do. I named CROSS, but sailed on TAP instead. I'm weird like that. :D

Forgot to say this is my first time using my new small laptop. Have to get used to it. This one even has a working web cam and sound :woh: Ray,s weighed over 10 lbs with all his batteries etc. This one is about 5 lbs and has a 2 GB CAPACITY. It's an HP Pavillion and has enough bells and whistles for my limited brain.

Pat, go for it. you can add names by using the edit function. It is one of the small icons next to the date. Only the poster can use the edit on a post.

Please add Bobby & Marti to the roll call for CAPTAINS.
Like most of you, we are longtime Regent fans. This will be our 9th Regent cruise, our 2nd with B&K and our 1st on a Ngaire-Ken escorted trip, a special treat.
We look forward to meeting all of you.

Karen, Pat & Ray, thanks for the welcome.
We're looking forward to seeing Copenhagen -- we're coming in a couple of days early to tour (staying at the Marriott, in case anyone else is).
Pat & Ray, we hear the air of Norway actually helps dissolve calories -- so we can eat all we want on the cruise.

Carol and I are arriving late on 6/24/09 and staying at the Marriott also. We will most probably sleep in a bit on 6/25 to recover from the jet lag. We have nothing special planned but a walk around Tivoli and dinner there on the night of 6/25. I think Pat and Ray are going to join us. Others are welcome. I am also thinking of doing the canal cruise in the early afternoon. It seems nice from the internet descriptions. We have been to CPH twice before so do not need to do the attractions we have seen before. Hopefully the weather will be nice. Last time it rained both days we were there. Made walking around not pleasant.

Ralph - you may have read this already, but the Marriott has a dock where the canal cruise boats pick you up. Hoping for sunny days for you all!

My husband David and I will be on this cruise (B2B with the July 10 Baltic cruise). Unfortunately, we booked this one before we became B&K clients, so we won't be part of the group. I just recently moved over to B&K, and they are great - I can't believe I waited so long to make the move! Hopefully we will still meet some of you guys on the cruise.

Cindy you will be included in EVERYTHING possible. There may be some things that the ship sends out invitations to that you cannot be included in as you will not officially be one of my clients listed for that particular voyage. However any of the unofficial gatherings (which is 95% of the action anyway) you will be more than welcome. We look forward to meeting you and having you join in as much as you wish.

Just found this thread. We are on this cruise too, but booked it before we found Ngaire. Hope to meet some of you on board. We will be the 50ish petite lady with short black hair, husky bald husband and tall 18 year old son with new Raybans on (his big precruise fashion purchase).

I think Ralph and Carol should already be in Copenhagen (they were going a couple of days early). Ngaire reported earlier that she had 16 B&K folks on the cruise. David and I are not officially included in the B&K group, but will be looking forward to meeting everyone. The last list I could find in an earlier post included the following:
Ngaire and Ken Pat and Ray Carol and Ralph Frank and Wendy Bobby and Marti Susan Cindy and David
We fly out late tomorrow afternoon. Looking so forward to the cooler weather!! It's 103 degrees here today!!
Look for Seamail soon!

Yes, Carol and I are in CPH. Arrived at Marrioott a bout 11pm last night. Had a good night sleep and saw Pat and Ray as they were going on a city tour this am. We are meeting up later to do the canal cruise in the mid afternoon. Looking forward to meeting all on board on Friday. Not sure how to tell all how to recognise Carol and I except for the picture. If you see us plese intoduce your self would love to meet all. Weather is good. Last time we were in CPH it rained buckets.

Actually there are 22 in the group and with Cindy, David, Rachel G, husband and son, that will make 27 people. Cindy and Rachel please contact me on the ship and let me know your cabin number. I think I am in 766 but if not just ask the desk to connect you Kenneth and Ngaire HUTYRA (not Keene) We will have a get together the first night at 6.30 pm before dinner in the Observation lounge you are welcome to come and attend. If lifeboat drill interferes with that time frame just come up when you can before dinner time. LOOK FOR PEOPLE WEARING THE "CAPTAINS PINS" PICTURED ABOVE, THEN YOU KNOW THEY ARE PART OF THE BK GROUP, IT REALLY HELPS ON THE FIRST NIGHT.
Just rearranged all my luggage - what a mess, too much this time. Leaving most of the expedition gear behind in Oslo to pick up on my flight home. Good thing we are flying from Oslo.
I seldom have all these luggage issues as I travel light but this time I am really wondering how on earth I have so much "stuff". Of course I bought a bunch in Longyearben thinking my bags would not come.
Cannot wait to get to the Voyager and get my self organized.
Sad saying goodbye to Leslie and Brad this evening. Their flight leaves at 7.00 am. We had a great time with them, they are wonderful travelling companions. Last night we ate at the local "best" restaurant KROA where we ate the first night in Longyearben. This time we got ribs. It was about two or more full racks PER PERSON. Fortunately Ken and I split one and still could not eat it all. They eat hearty in the arctic. It was a nice day and people were actually sitting on the patio in the sun.
Off to sleep now flying to the Voyager tomorow at 9.30 am.
Actually grew to enjoy this little tiny outpost of a town. The Sptizbergen Hotel felt like home by the second stay. Very nice staff at the hotel and the desk clerk wondered what card game we were playing all the time that we liked so much. We told her POOCH she looked puzzled. Ken was the top scorer, and Leslie had the most wins and the high score of 116. Brad and I are licking our wounds.

Have a great time. I really liked the Marriott. The buffet in the concierge level was really nice. If you have a chance, visit the resistence museum near the ship. You can walk to it. It is really interesting.
