We ended up having to cancel our Safari. John is still not back to work and won't be until June. They will not give him a month off for vacation so soon after his return. We are so depressed about not being able to go. All air, hotels, everything was in place. Ngaire has been wonderful is helping us to get refunds, etc. We are booked for Dubai to Mumbai in the fall of 2009 on Regent. There is no other person in the travel industry that cares about her clients than Ngaire. We are all so blessed to have her.

Dear Judy and John: This is very sad news! We were looking forward to meeting you. Best of luck with John's recovery. The Dubai to Mumbai sailing will, in its own way, also be a safari to new and different lands.

Agree 100% about our only travel agent. I've never met anyone like her, and am I ever glad I did! Others are agog when we tell them about the cool trips we take, thanks to Ngaire.

Thank you everyone for your nice messages. I printed them so John can read them and hopefully they will boost his spirits. Yes, we will definitely meet some of you on future trips with Ngaire. This is just a roadblock; but we will go around and get back to traveling again. I will be looking for all your posts from ROAR 2. ;)

Sorry you had to cancel your plans, Judy. The cruise from Dubai to Mumbai in 2009 will be an excellent replacement. Hope you'll be back on the traveling road much sooner than that, though. Good luck to John in his recovery.

Hello Everyone, John and I need your prayers and good thoughts especially now. We got more bad news on Wednesday. John is positive for prostrate cancer. We are shocked and devestated. We are trying to get an appointment at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale. The doctor here said he will need the prostrate removed because this cancer is aggressive. He had a bone scan and CT done today. No results until next week. We are keeping the faith that this has not spread. He had no symptoms; just an elevated PSA. We are keeping good thoughts to making that cruise in 2009!

Oh no! We are so sorry to hear this further bad news, Judy. Let us know how the visit goes with Mayo. They are not only wonderful for treatment but also for support during scary times like this.

Judy, Tony and I are both "active" Mayo patients in Jax, Florida. You will be in the very best of hands with their doctors and cutting edge medical treatment. I know the diagnosis is shocking but I hear the most wonderful long term remission stories from other patients. John will be one of them! Best wishes

My dear friend, Judy - Alan and I are holding you and John in our thoughts and prayers. This has been a most difficult time for you both. This latest development is devastating. I know you have deep faith. Rely on that faith to see you through.

I hope you received the email I sent you the other day about City of Hope in Duarte, CA. Our friend had prostate cancer and had his surgery there. It was robotic surgery and it was successful.

Let's keep the faith that the next time you post, you will have far more encouraging news.
