Tom and I are considering going on the Auckland to Los Angeles cruise Dec. 3, 2007 on the Mariner. It's a 2 for 1, 19 night escorted by Ngaire and also includes 2 nights hotel in Auckland if booked through B&K. Also this is a 10% off Society savings special. The price is sure right!! Is anyone else considering this??

This is the itinerary

We booked this cruise several months ago when we first noticed it offered two nights pre-cruse in Auckland and was a 2 for 1. Having Ngaire as an escort makes it even a better offer.

Gil and I won't be doing this cruise but will probably be doing the Tahiti cruise with Debbie Tate, leaving on the 12th. We'll sign up for it on the ship this week. This cruise offers a one night complimentary stay in Papeete courtesy of Ngaire.

Ngaire and Debbie have arranged for both groups to meet up in Tahiti for a reception and lunch on 12/12. This was posted by Ngaire in the SAND seamail thread:

Quote
Ken and I will be on the Mariner sailing 12/3/07 Auckland to LAX that docks in Papeete on December 12th. Ken and I are disembarking in Papeete. Debbie is escorting the PG on December 12th departure.

Since both ships will be in port on the same day we have been trying to think about doing something special for those BK guests on the Mariner and those about to embark on the Paul Gauguin. Debbie and I have been working on this together.

We have put together a complimentary one night hotel package for the night of December 11th at the Radisson Hotel for Brown and Keene guests on the December 12 sailing of the Paul Gauguin. Also a transfer from the hotel to the Mariner the morning of December 12th to arrive at the Mariner in time for a SPECIAL BK AND LCT REUNION LUNCHEON for all BK guestS on both ships.

The morning of December 12th we will have a morning cocktail reception and then lunch on the Mariner for all the Paul Gauguin guests and Mariner guests.

Then the PG guests can walk over to the PG an have special early boarding on the PG as the Mariner sails at 2.00 pm. That will be neat too to be the first on board. Since Ken and I are disembarking the Mariner we will come over to the PG as well.

I think it will be so much fun with both groups coming together in Tahiti. It will be the first time we have been able to do something like this. I am pretty excited about it. It will be the first reunion of LCT cruisers from two trips aboard a Regent ship.

The ships are not in port together that much so it just seemed like such a fun and neat thing to do.

Welcome to LCT Valerie and Charles! Sounds like a really good cruise. Wish we could go, but 19 days is too long for us to be gone and we will just be getting back from doing CROSS in November!

Arlene, that is a really good cruise also. I loved seeing Denas pictures and getting to sail with Debbie and Russ is an added bonus. They are a lot of fun.

Wow...sounds very enticing.

Unfortunately kids and the finincial obligation of having to work will prevent our participation.

I noticed that there are 4 formal nights for this cruise. As we have yet to sail on a cruise with a formal night, much less multiple formal nights, a probably silly question:

For cruises with multiple formal nights, do most people bring a seperate gown/tux for each formal night? Sounds like a huge amount of luggage.

Hi Chuck and Valerie wonderful to see you post - welcome to the boards. This is a great couple everyone so glad to have them here.

JanR -- formal nights for me -- means the same black pants and shell and just a top that has a couple of sequins on it that I might also wear on casual night. It seldom makes any difference in what I chose to wear, formal, informal or casual.

You do not need to dress up to the nines if you do not wish to do so.

We are currently booked on the full Grand Asia Pacific cruise in 2007 that includes the cruise you are considering.

We are keeping our fingers crossed that everyone here stays healthy so that we are able to go.

I have a very dear friend that is a travel agent so unfortunately I am not able to book through B&K and take advantage of their wonderful deals.

Looking forward to meeting everyone on board.

Susan: The Grand Asia Pacific is one of the three Grand Voyages of Regent and is my favorite because of the emphasis on Asia. You will never regret taking this cruise. Regent makes you feel like a Queen.

Victor, this is wonderful! We miss you and Rosanne too! Remember that in order to get the free 2 nights hotel in Auckland you must book through/tell them that Ngaire (B&K) is your TA when you do your onboard booking.

Ngaire is holding a G guarantee for us as well as for Joanna & Tony though I'm still not positive this will all come about....but I sure hope so!

So glad to hear that Ray & Penny and other LCTers that we look forward to meeting will be on board.

Marcie, this is a wonderful itinerary and as you say the pricing is great, and even more so when you add in the pre-cruise stay in Auckland and the special B&K event. Wow! If we weren't committed to CROSS just the month before, I would LOVE to do this cruise. Darn! Can't do everything!

Editing to say, PLUS Joanna and Tony and the others who have booked already, and a chance to meet you finally. I want to come along! Oh well ....

Wow, Marcie, this looks GREAT! The price is definitely right. I just WISH we had that much time off from work...Greg might be able to get away with it, but my bosses would kill me! :(

I can always dream......

Add Alan and me to the list. We loved this itinerary so much on the Voyager in 2006. Now we'll do it backwards and on the Mariner in 2007. And, looks like we'll be with great cruising companions.

Tom and I are also on this cruise. Not sure if we will be able to take it though, it depends on work/potential retirement... ;) I would love to go, we booked while on the Voyager last June when Penny and Ray told us about it! Add our names and hopefully they will stay on the list.
Cheers, Pam

LAMB - Luxury Aboard Mariner's Brilliance - Mariner Aukland to LA December 3rd, 2007
TEAPOT WINNER - Andrea

Already done --- such a GREAT name.

BUT we dont have a name for the PG cruise on 12/12/07 that Debbie is escorting. That has enough people to qualify now and we need that name.

I'm trying to make CHOP work - Complimentary Hotel Over Papeete. It is a rather weird name but I so wanted to come up with a lamb chop for our dear Ngaire.
