Karen - this is perfect for you. Go to www.onesole.com, you can pick a sole, they have two or three different ones, with that you get two free snap on/off tops, and then you can pick as many more tops as you are willing to pay for, and can change your shoe look every day and night. They have cute tops, strappy tops, dressy tops, etc, and you can even send in your own photo and they will make a top for you. I found these shoes in Fairhope AL last summer, have two soles, and about 10 tops and love them. They are very comfortable too. :D

Hi, Jim B and you all..... This LAMB cruise is my first with Regent. It came highly recommended from another member of LCT.I just got off the Oceania Regatta - the crossing in March from Miami to Provence. I have been trying out different lines for the last two years, while I have excellent help to take my place in both my jobs. Regent is the one I've been looking at the most - but the timing was never right and I love sea days (to de-stress because of the two jobs!). Finally, my friend encouraged me to look at LAMB. I ended up cancelling my Celebrity Century crossing, and judging by the posts from all of you, I have made an excellent decision. I am in E-952 and have no idea what to expect as a newbie to LCT and Regent. One thing for sure, I'm looking forward to this one, and meeting all of you. Here's to you all....Jini

Pat & I are the "friend" who urged Jini to try Regent, beginning with LAMB. She is the sister of an old amigo of ours and has become our friend as well. So, LAMBers, be nice to her, please (despite her connection to us). We assured her that the LCT contingent on LAMB was a delightful group of good folks. If we were not already committed to CROSS, we'd be with you all.
Remember that we learned all sorts of rude techniques from the Huns on the Hanseatic while we were on PENGUIN POOP - thus, ve have our vays to make you pay if Fraulein Jini is not given the usual LCT Willkommen.
Hmm, you can take the boy out of the company of Huns; but can you take the Hunnish influence out of the boy??!!

Hi, Cruzinfanatic, JoAnn......
Because of your post on the One Soles - I bought a pair - "the traveler", I think. It's been a little cold to really try them out, but I do like them! Thanks for the tip! Jini

Thank you all for the welcome.....I wish Fred and Pat were coming on this one, too! I heard from another cruise friend who was with me last month on the Regatta.....he says the weather where we're going is hot, hot, hot! Anyone done this time of year?? I don't know what to expect - I know we still have a lot of time. Thanks, again, for your welcome.....Take care, Jini

Jini: I wish they were cruising with us too!!! I am so looking forward to this long cruise that I am not concerned about hot - although, I live in Florida and know the heat and humidity can be tough - I think we'll do fine!! Great accomodations, good food, fun companions! And no decorating the house for Xmas!!! YEAH!!

We did this cruise last December & it was one of our most fun trips. It starts out hot but after Nuka Hiva it cools down to 60s. One of the many highlights of last year's crossing was a starlight viewing of South Pacific. They set up the projector on the pool deck, lined up chaise lounges & set out the popcorn. It was so wonderful. I cried & Jim & several of the men fell asleep & snored. So much for the romance of the South Seas. There were 2 pool deck dinners & several local dance troops came aboard & entertained us.

But Joanna, it was thrilling to have Rossano Brazzi & the handsome young John Kerr speak directly to me. Since we were stretched out on chaise lounges, why would it be any differrent than watching a movie at home & hearing snoring within 10 minutes?
I was remembering when we were on a shore excursion, probably Nuka Hiva, and when we came back it was if the ship had been taken over by Christmas elves. There were beautiful trees & garlands all over. There was a huge gingerbread house in the atrium lobby & one outside Compass Rose & La Verandah.

Greetings all I have just confirmed our cabin on the Dec.03 crossing. Is this thread just for LCTers who are with BK? If it is open to others we will be in D1046 and would like to meet fellow LCTs. Y'all seem to know each other so well you must be related.(JJ)Have booked QA26 on Nov28th using my BA miles.Unfortunatly it will be in economy, but at least it's at the back in a 2 seater.Being of Scottish ancestry I will not pay Business class prices. It's been years since we were in Auckland and it would be very heipful for those who have been there more recently,if you could recommend a good hotel. If memory serves me correctly, the pier is right down town.

With great regret, we are cancelling LAMB.
We have purchased a lot in S. Carolina and right now I am totally engaged in designing our new house. At LAMB time, I will be heavily involved in the final throes of approving finish work, etc., which is not a good time to be on a cruise.
Best regards to all friends and whom would become new friends, we wish you all a great cruise!
With much disappointment and best regards to all-
Bill (and Nancy)

I just took our friends Bing & Carol Cherry off the list. :mecry: :mecry: Spoke to Bing last night. They are flying to Italy in February and just don't think it wise to be gone so long on this cruise. Gosh! We have been with them on our last 4 cruises. Will feel lost without them. :mecry: :mecry:

Well it will be summer in Auckland and very topical in Tahiti area. I don't think it will cool down much until we get close to LAX. Don't you agree?

Hi all,
I just found this website after somebody mentioned it on cruise critic. My partner Jeffrey and I will also be on this cruise in December. I'm looking forward to the Tahitian islands again as I was on the Mariner for its South Pacific circle back in 2003...any SCUBA divers on board? (It's some of the best I've done in Bora Bora).
Also I'm near to booking the Vietnam segment (Hong Kong to Singapore) of this Mariner cruise for October 2008...has anyone done that cruise or will have been on for that part of the cruise this year? It seems like a good way to see Vietnam with a post cruise trip to Angkor Wat in Cambodia.
cheers, Kent

Hi all I'm about to book a room at the Sky City Hotel. We will be in on the 30th. We are really looking forward to meeting you all as Ngaire tells me that a lot of you will also be on ROAR 2. Ray and I have finalized that booking(at least I hope we have). It was hearing Ray and Penny talk about their trip ,while sipping wine at Alice fazooli's in Toronto and what a grand time they had.It started with a harmless inquiry to Ngaire and the rest is history as they say.

Hi Jim,
I believe we are 821 & 822 (we booked 2 since the single supplement was almost nothing; one will be a closet!). We're currently flying on Cathay thru LAX and Hong Kong as it was the only option for business class with miles that worked. I'm trying to get us First or Business on Quantas instead non stop from LAX but those seats are hard to get with miles...
cheers, Kent

Hi Jim, We did that on purpose so we could always be on the sunny side of the ship! Plus if we don't like the view at port we can go to our other cabin. I don't think Mariner has any ajoining regular cabins so it is nearly just as easy to walk across the hall as to go next door. It was less expensive to book the two cabins than one penthouse. cheers, Kent

Welcome, Kent & Jeffrey!!!
Glad you're with us...I already like your style! 2 cabins, wow! Two bathrooms, even better! I am concerned about the flight to Auckland. I'm looking to have my TA do some sort of upgrade through Regent, if there is such a thing. I don't even know what lines fly there. This is my first Regent cruise, and I booked the air with them. This cruise will come up fast, as fall is my busiest time of year. Look forward to meeting you Kent and Jeffrey!

LAMB is going to be such a fun trip!! We booked our flight with Platinum AmEx (2 for 1 Biz tickets on Air NZ). Normally AmEx 2 for 1 is higher than booking independently but for once, it actually worked out cheaper.
The great cruise fare plus 2 free nights in Auckland allowed us to splurge for Biz flying all the way to Auckland!
