Groovy! You all make great mop-tops!
For those of you that don't know, when Ngaire was 16 she was president of her local Beatles Fan Club in NZ and got to see the Fab 4 back stage after a performance!

Bags are outside the door, Pubs is over - darn!
It has been a great trip. Today we had a picture postcard perfect day. Sunshine and calm. During the entire week in the British Isles we saw NO RAIN. Some overcast days but to go this long without rain is really remarkable.
We went to a wonderful castle today Mount St. Michael. Similiar to Mont St. Michelle in France. Built on an island that becomes surrounded by water at high tide.
This has been a wonderful trip, but very busy. I am looking forward to Panda with some sea days. A port every day is very hectic, I do like some down time.
The Voyager - really was incredible on this trip. The staff superb, the food outstanding. Having Patrick and Dining Room Manager, Laurent as F&B, Phillipe as Hotel Director, Lorraine as Cruise Director and Dag as Captain. Kenny Smiles was really good on this trip too - lots of new material and a wonderful new song. Little Emily is a true star amongst the wait star she has the BEST smile. It cannot get any better than this. I am sad I wont be on this ship again until May 08. Times flys though so we will be here before you know it.

So sorry your trip is ending....seems like it flew by. We sure loved all your great seamail! I didn't know Emily was still onboard....her smile is so cute and boy can she dance!
Safe journeys home to all PUBsters.

I never thought we'd end up enjoying sea days but I am hooked - we will get to experience many of them on Lamb and back to the port intensive on B2B. I love the B2B ports -

I can't believe it is over already, Ngaire! We needed more postings, but since you were so port intensive, I guess not possible! Hope someone will give a report at the end! Maybe Debbie will need to do this!

This cruise sounded like so much fun. Glad the weather cooperated.
Joanna, I like my sea days, too. Can't wait for LAMB. Although, there is so much to do that I end up just as tired as port intensive.

Wow Ngaire! What a wonderful trip. I am jealous of all this Pubs/Lamb/B2B talk. No one (except Suzanne and Joanna and ????) will lay eyes on us until Roar2!!! I may have to fix that. I'm so glad you had a great trip. I LOVED those pictures!

Just for info, The Skt. Petri in Copenhagen is very expensive and just a so so hotel. Food is extremely expensive everywhere in Europe and a martini at the Skt. Petri was $25. The Goring in London is a perfect 10; fantastic in every way.

For those of you who are Niel Broomhall fans, we ran into him in Falmouth and had lunch with him aboard the Saga Rose. He has been Captain of the Saga Rose for two years and will be going to the Saga Ruby in Jan '08 for the South America cruise. I'll be posting some pics on the Kodak site in the next couple of days. He still looks the same and he's still happy and full of life.

That's great Doug, he was my favorite Captain ever! Maybe now that there's talk of a new ship, Regent can get him back!
I think most of us on FJORDS found Copenhagen for the most part outrageously expensive.

Don't think there's much chance of Niel coming back to Regent. He's happy where he is and he's making more money than Dag. He works two months on and 2 off and he gets to see his family often. Dag and he are great friends and Dag agrees that Niel has a sweet deal where he is.

Also, just a reminder. In Great Britain it's one carry-on period. Fortunately, we had put all toilet articles in our checked luggage, so we were able to get the camera case in my carry-on and Lynn's purse in hers. There are also other differences from the States in that you can't bring any sharp object( like short scissors) and no lighters. And, Gatwick is as bad, or worse than Heathrow.

Thanks for the photos of Neil Broomhall, Doug, he's always been my favourite too. I'm so glad he's happy where he is.
On another note, I'm very confused about your post regarding hand luggage in the U.K. I've had lighters taken off me trying to fly to the U.S. from Canada, and from points in the U.S. to other points in the U.S. Yet I was allowed to take one (visible and declared) from Canada to Manchester, from Glasgow to Belfast, and from Belfast to Edinburgh, and from Glasgow to Toronto last month, all in hand luggage. I assumed it was a U.S. rule!! And in Britain there were very obvious "no sharp objects" signs at all the airports I was at - including scissors. Which I thought was standard - I couldn't even take a corkscrew to the U.S. from Canada, much less scissors. You've been allowed to take scissors on board within the U.S.?
Also, different airlines in the U.K. have different hand baggage allowances - I was allowed a purse AND a (relatively large) carry-on flying on Easyjet between all the above mentioned destinations.
Charlene
Life is a journey, not a destination.

I just enhanced the pics of Niel's ship and the one of the 4 of us. They were too dark. By the way, Saga Rose is not that big; it's 28,000 tons. Don't know what to tell you Charlene, but that was our experience last Friday at Gatwick.

BAA website is stil saying ONE carryon bag per person, period, and they give measurements. When we came home last year, they made Mark stuff my little computer bag down into the sizer thingie; he got it ever so slightly off-kilter, and it took three people to get it back out.

Doug, I'm sure you know about it, but here is a link to the Captain's Blogs from Saga... http://www.saga.co.uk/travel/cruises3/CaptainsBlog_Main.asp?this_ship=Rose&bn= Not by name, but he talks about meeting you and bringing you onboard. I found these Captain's Blogs on the Saga Cruises WC many months ago and I just think it is the greatest feature. Very interesting. Debbie
