Just learned that DOCs are in for our 9 Nov Silver Shadow cruise. That's the earliest we have ever gotten docs. Regent was normally 3 weeks prior. WOO HOO!

Congratulations on your docs, Doug! The Shadow is an absolutely lovely ship, and I know you will enjoy sailing her!

We're doc dancing too--just received our docs for Mumbai to Fll on the Navigator. Now we can officially get excited :D

Just got our Silver box a while ago. What a bitter disappointment! About the only thing I like about the package is the pre-printed luggage tags; 4 for me and 4 for my lovely bride. The cruise ticket is an absolute joke. I thought I was opening a will or some other legal document. Boy, is that thing bulky! I like the Regent docs much better, but I guess it's all in what you're used to. I thought the package was very generic and had very little info about the ship and this particular cruise. They didn't even include a deck plan layout. It's OK for experienced cruisers, but it would not be good for a first time cruiser. We signed up for early boarding, but there's nothing about that in the cruise ticket. Susan has assured me that it's in the computer and not to worry, but our experience with the port authority in LA, relative to boarding, has been really bad. Hope it's not going to be a problem, because my German/Scottish/Irish temper will com out if it is after the long drive from Phoenix. Oh well, we'll hope for a great cruise and the opportunity to meet lots of nice people.

We're back! Had a great cruise! I think Silversea has an edge on Regent in most areas. Will post a report in the next day or two. Having some frustrating computer problems right now.

I posted a review on Cruise Critic under the Silversea board, but it hasn't come up yet. If it got lost in cyberspace I'll re-do it here. We really liked the Shadow though.

Glad you enjoyed SS, Doug. I think the Cruise Critic reviews take a few days before they get posted - I'm sure it will show up. I look forward to reading it!
