I will be doing my first Silverseas cruise in two months+ and have a couple dumb questions  How does SS do the bar setup in the suites. On Radisson you could select two standard brands bottles or one premium. How does SS do it? I love cruiseline tee-shirts, does SS carry a good selection of logo products. Does SS get the docs out pretty much around 30 days. I have a guarantee veranda suite, do I have to wait until my doc show up to see what suite number I have Thanks in Advance......

Hi Blackbird, I should be able to answer a couple of these...
Docs have arrived between 3-4 weeks prior to embarkation, providing that you have completed your Guest Information form (which they should have mailed to you, or else you can complete it online).
You can request anything you want in your bar (within reason). We do so on our Guest Information form and they have accommodated us nicely. We usually request 2-3 bottles of booze, 2 brands of beer, and the specific kinds of soda and juice we want. Our first two voyages, they followed our instruction to the LETTER. It was wonderful. Don't be afraid to ask for premium brands. If they are not "included", they will let you know. We request brands like Grey Goose and Bombay Sapphire which are, of course, "included".
If you have not requested your bar setup preferences prior to the cruise, it's no problem - you can wait until you get on board.
The gift shop did seem to have a decent selection of logo'd items - mostly polo shirts, caps, visors, "country club wear".
I am not sure about your suite assignment, as we always select our suite number at the time of booking. I would call your TA or Silversea to see if you have been assigned to a specific suite yet, as the suspense would be killing me! But maybe with a guarantee you will have to wait until your docs arrive??? not sure.
Hope you have a wonderful time!!!

thanks for the answers.
Unlike mega ships, IMHO there are no bad suites on these size ships. IF I was doing a long cruise, I would want to be on a deck with a laundry. But for a short one, it doesn't matter.

You're welcome! And you're right, there really are no bad suites!

I went into our guest info form online to type preferences. I didn't see anywhere to do so except the "anything we've forgotten" or whatever that section is called. It only allows 100 characters, but when I type more than about 75, it won't save. I couldn't really get a list there of what we wanted for soda and liquor.
We're 80 days from departure. When will we find out if the 4 day shorties will have a formal night? Todd can't fit in his tux, and I need to know if I need to buy one or not. Found an awesome deal.

Thanks. I have been lurking for a long time and had intended to join before now. Although I take about a half dozen or so trips a year, this is my very first cruise. I am pretty excited about it.

Oh Silverseas Webmaster -- I too had problems with your input area that looks to hold 256 characters but you are limited to 100.... <img border="0" alt="[bang]" title="" src="graemlins/banghead.gif" />

Debbie, where did you find the tux deal. Russ needs one soon too and other than Men's Warehouse, I'm clueless. Thanks!

Al's Formalwear here in the Houston area. Do they have such a place in your area? I was flabbergasted that their prices were what we paid 13 years ago for a tux, and then we thought we got a good deal.
Blackbird, do you know if these shorties will have a formal night? There is no day at sea, so I keep wondering. Before I buy formal wear, I'd like to know. We're on the April 5 one.

BTW, Al's is only in a few states but does sell online. I'd think men would need a fitting, though. They have a 5 day rental that allows for daily extension and then they have the tux deal. My friend also found a tux around $200 w/ all the trimmings in Baltimore, so this must be a deal that is common.

I am betting on one Formal night. Maybe when I get my docs it will lay it out. Many years ago I brought one from a man that aways had an ad in Cruise Travel. Good deal. But I have not received CT in years. I will not get lucky on this cruise as I am in Roanoke but do not need to, but I found a man that owns his own Tux shop in Tampa with his own Tuxes. When I went on my 12 day RSSC Mariner cruise last Feb, I told him I needed a Tux for two weeks and he said No Problem "I will be here when you get back" ;) Total cost was like $75 dollars..

I was told 'no formal nights' on the 4 day cruises. In another vein re: tuxes. Believe it or not I bought one for my husband from cheaptux.com for a little over $100 - and it is tropical weight wool, very light weight a super for cruises!!! Excellent service and the suit is wonderful! He even likes it - the ultimate complement!

Good afternoon, everyone!
I bought a fabulous tux of very soft fine italian tropical wool, important men's haberdasher on e-bay. There are a lot of school level tuxes there, but a tremendous number of wonderful ones as well. It was used, arrived in beautiful condition. Our tailor told us the lapel material was very fine and very special. I think it cost $65.00! If you need additional measurements, you can email the seller to ask a question. Great experience Vicki T

I just got an email from my TA on my March 28 4 dayer.
Good morning, Bill, There is 1 formal night, 1 informal night and 2 casual nights on this sailing.
Well, I was hoping for no informal but I lost.
on Edit... Good news, SS has gone like Radisson with ties optional on informal night....
I hate ties... Sports Coat Not a problem :)

This Al's Formal Wear has the pants and jacket together for $89.99, then you add on the shirt, tie and vest. There deals go from $139 to about $200.
I don't know what luggage we're taking. We're probably going to St. Lucia or Antigua for 3 or 4 nights first.

Well, I was hoping for no informal but I lost. Hi Blackbird, Thanks for the heads up! I guess I also lost.. I was hoping for all casual. Oh well, I guess I'll have to travel with something bigger that my carry-on. I hope we get to meet at some point in time during the cruise. I'll be with the rowdy group speaking very fast in spanish! :D ( my family and their friends). Hopefully we won't be too "animated" for Silversea. Editing to ask: ppiew are you in this same cruise?

cruiseluv and others on the March 28 Whisper cruise. Sounds like a meet up before dinner one night for drinks. I am a single cruiser so I am open to the time and place. :)

Hi Blackbird,
Yes we could do that. For me it wil probably be better one of the casual nights. It just takes me longer to get ready on the formal nights :) .
Do you know if there are other LCT people on this cruise?

Karen, mix that with RSSC and SS cruises and really have something. Talk about an addiction. Last year they had SS cruises on SkyAuction.com I never won anything because I could never find a cruise that went for less than I could get booking it with B&K, but it is definately infectious. I couldn't stop watching it. I saw cruises go for way over what they were already selling for, but rarely did I see anyone get a real steal.
