 Water temperature Question???

Going on the PG 10 day July 12 and am planning (hopping) to do snorkeling.
Does any one have any Idea of the the average water temp around that time.
Hoping it will be nice enough to be able to stay in the water for a while.

I'm not on PG but just observing how many new posters there are all cruising on PG. Just a reminder about the "Introduction" thread, we'd love to learn more about you all so please take the opportunity to introduce yourselves.

I was just on the June 3rd sailing and my experience was that the water is WARM. In fact, my husband stayed in so long without a t-shirt that he got a little burn on his back. Water temperature was never a factor in how long we snorkeled.

If you dive you will want to wear one of the shorty wetsuits that are provided on the PG, or if you get cold snorkling, just borrow one of them. No need to bring extra lycra tops or whatever one wears when they are cold snorkling.
I was on the May 27 PG and the water was very warm. Warmer in the ocean than the pool at the pre and post hotel.

Hi Old Doc:
We are on the JUly 12 also. We have read where the water temps in Rangiroa are in the 80's but cooler (70's) in Bora Bora. Bam....was it warm enough in Bora Bora to snorkel without a shorty?
I find if it is in the 70's it is too cool to stay in any length of time.
Are the suits good on the PG? I'd rather not have to bring one...to much to pack.

The suits are VERY nice on the PG. They even have the Regent logo on the chest, so you will look official while you are in the water..... Yes it was warm enough to snorkle just with your swimsuit in BB. I guess it depends on the weather and how much you kick and how long you are in the water too. If you are worried, just check out a wetsuit. No need to pack one and worry about it drying, etc.

When we were there they said the water temp was almost the same as air temp. So always around 90 degrees.
