Well...time is passing quickly since the Holidays, so Hiro and I have been busy making private excursion plans for every port of call on our Nautica "Ode To The Emperors" Cruise embarking March 16th in Beijing (Tianjin). The only port of call where we are having a tad bit of a challenge is our March 29th visit to Taipei.
We've lined up a reputable tour company for a private full day (8 hour)tour of Taipei at a cost of $165pp, but would welcome another single or couple to join our party of 3. By making it a party of 4 or 5 people, the pp price reduces to $100. You'll be happy to learn that you need not have a company sponsored guide in Taipei.

We were there last year, also with "O", and hired a "cabbee" dockside for $100 for 6 hours; there were 4 of us! There were at least 10 cabs all willing to negotiate.

We showed him where we wanted to go, I believe it was 4-5 stops, and we were extremely pleased.
Just follow a full day ship tour itinerary. We saw it all for $30pp. He was extremely grateful to receive a nice tip!
