has anybody joined this? The fee is $60/year, so I have never joined. But I wonder if it would be useful.

Diane, I've wondered about that website also. You might check out fodors.com and see if anyone there has used it.

Diane, I became a member of best fares several years ago. The airfares on their website seemed to be the lowest I could find. However they were for only certain days of the week (or times)and never seemed to be flights that worked well with my plans. When I did find a couple I liked, the tacked on fees brought the price up to a competetive level with other travel websites. I was able to find better prices on hotel rooms. All in all, I wasn't able to take advantage of my membership as much as I thought I would. I haven't tried them in several years and I'm still being charged the yearly fee. I guess hope springs eternal!! LOL

Diane, several years ago I joined Best Fares, having heard good things about it. (It's based in the Dallas area, so I had read perhaps more about Tom Parsons et al than someone in another locale.) I have had hits and misses as a member. Once I got a really good air fare, and I've gotten good rental car discounts. Another time I was disappointed in the air deals. I haven't used it for hotel or (obviously) cruises.

Like Barbara, I kind of forgot about Best Fares and let it renew again this year automatically. Now I'm hopeful again, because in November 2007 we will need an open jaw flight into Nice before we do the Grand Crossing. The Best Fares rates to Nice for November 2006 are far lower than others I have found online. Of course it is too far ahead to see any fares for November 2007, but I've got my fingers crossed that my membership may pay off. I guess I'll let it renew again next year!
