Hi,
For those of you that have traveled in UK and Italy or Spain: Are the electric wall outlets/ plugs of electrical appliances ( like hair blowers, flat irons) the same ? Or are the ones in the UK different? In othere words, will the plug of a hair dryer and flat iron that I bought in Spain fit in the wall outlet in UK? Or will I need an adapter?
Thank you!

You will need a plug adaptor.

Maria, The UK uses a three prong plug as opposed to the European 2 rounded prong plug. ![[Linked Image]](http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/I/01BYYAY1Z9L._AA90_.jpg)

Hi Maria,
We have an adapter that has interchangeable plugs, to be used in many different countries. You may want to look into getting one of those. It will serve you well regardless of where you are.

We always used to carry an adapter kit, but it was really a pain to use and it finally blew when Lynn was using her curling iron at 1500W. Since then we have found that we've always been able to borrow one from the hotels that we've stayed at. That's HK, Singapore, Agra, Cairo, Luxor, Athens, Rome, Buenos Aires, Lima, Papeete, Cape Town( borrowed one from the folks we were visiting ). In Cairo at the Four Seasons we had to wait about 1/2 hour and the converter they brought us was about a foot square, but it worked great. Everywhere else we just picked one up at the desk.

Thanks everybody,
Suzanne, the picture was great as I found that I have an adapter just like that. I just made sure it fits into the 2 rounded prong plug of my flat iron !
Denise, that adapter sounds unusual ( but very practical). Have never seen it. You'll have to show it to me in CROSS!

Maria, We purchased the converter adapter at a store called REI. They have a website, if you don't have an REI in your area. Here is the type of adapter we have REI

Denise, that is like what I have too except that my plugs pop out of the back of the unit, so you can't lose them. I found mine at Radio Shack.

Thanks Denise,
My blower and flat iron are 220 so I don't need the converter. The adapters I had bought also in Radio Shack ( I forgot I had them!).
