Hold on tight, keep swimming suit on hand and stock the bar!!! Living in Florida we can totally identify with your situation and will be watching carefully and hoping for the best!

Stay safe!!!

Stay safe but I can't see anything. I just have a red X, so I don't really know what the problem is.

I just saw that Flossie has been downgraded. Hopefully that's a good sign.
Hoping for all the best.

Thinking of you, Masaki - I also see that TS Dean is strengthening in the Atlantic - 'tis the season, unfortunately. :(

Couldn't read your post for some strange reason, but did see the hurricane and fire on the news tonight.

Stay safe Masaki and Amanda - thinking of you.

I think Masaki was trying to post an image of the impending hurricane - I tried to identify the exact image and it was no longer available - but this sums it up probably:

Well, apparently NOAA only keeps up the images up for a short while so they expire eventually (leading to dead link above).

Apologies.

Better. We're OK - they're forecasting Oahu to not get touched except for slight rain and wind. Big Island will be getting hit a lot with rain/wind but otherwise not too bad. We're getting off lucky!

Thanks for all the good thoughts everyone! They're working, apparently! :D

(Ray - the card was cute!! Thank you!)

Thankfully, it seems like you did OK.

Now if Dean and Erin will behave...

I'm so glad that the hurricane turned out to be "no big deal"! It's always great when they are downgraded or completely miss you. See you soon!

First earthquake, then hurricane warning, now tsunami threat. Hawaii is certainly getting its share of threats this week. Thinking of you, Masaki and Amanda, and our other HI friends. Please get to high ground if this tsunami thing takes shape!

It hasn't been a good few days for the Hawaiian Islands, has it? Thanks again, everyone, for thinking of us!

Happy to report that you couldn't even tell we had a hurricane on the way. It was a lot windier than usual but otherwise blue sky all the way. The brush fires we had have caused more damage. Wishing safe thoughts for everyone in Dean's path!
